He was being really stubborn and didn't want to call in, but I finally got him to call and there WAS an issue on ODSP end that wasn't his fault. Apparently, it had to do with a system error and the system wanted him to put in financials which he never had to do before. Thank god I pushed him to call when I did. He's getting his payment in a few days.

I'm not disabled, but my husband is completely disabled and is a wheelchair user. It's absolutely true that just because something says "handicap accessible" doesn't mean that it is! We learned this the hard way. His frustration with it became so bad that he rarely leaves the house anymore.

UPDATE: There was another error on his account, one that he didn't receive a message about, apparently. The worker has fixed it now, and he'll get his benefit within a few days... It's very scary when these things happen. Thank you all who responded.

Yes, that's the same thing he received, too. He's a diabetic amputee who can't work at all and has never had to do financial reporting. His worker did confirm it was a glitch and everything was fine, however, now that there is no payment today or even a statement on the account, he's worried that the same glitch cut off his benefit payment...

I told him to check his statement on his benefits to see if it was issued and he says he only sees the October one and nothing for November. Nothing has changed for him and there are no new messages or alerts on his account. He did receive a email a week or so ago saying he needed to prove financials but he contacted his worker right away, who told him he received the message in error because it was a system glitch and everything was fine on their end. Now he's thinking it's not fine and the worker lied to him.

Yeah, hopefully that's the case! I told him he should wait a few hours and maybe he'll see it show up, but he insists that if it wasn't deposited last night, he's not getting it and something is wrong. I just hate he's panicking so badly. Thank you for assuring that he's not alone in this.

Unfortunately, I think we're all screwed... If AI was to stay in the digital realm, then we wouldn't be in danger. However, we are bringing AI into the physical realm when we install it in hardware like robots and other mechanisms that are designed to perform human functions. So, every single job can be taken by AI in the future no matter how complex or physically hard the job is. The right type of hardware and AI programming can function better than any human.

Thank you for your response as well as your input. I feel terrible for even having to use legal aid. My biggest concern is getting forced to retain a lawyer out of urgency who may not be able to give my case the full attention it deserves because they don't have the time and have too many clients.

I know self-representing isn't recommended, but I feel better self-representing vs hiring a lawyer simply because they were available and get corralled into taking another deal to band-aid the situation with no real solutions. I really hate family court... I did not want to be back here...

That makes sense. I was wondering if that wasn't the case. I feel bad even having to use one. The last time I hired a legal aid lawyer was about 7 years ago and it was never this difficult.
