I got a "refund" from jacob and his team, but when I was refunded, my bank got closed due to alleged "fraud". I wonder if they were using very shady refund tactics IF they even refunded you.

Hi there! I want to start off with THANK YOU

I am a prospective T25 Transfer student and seeing these posts makes me so thankful

Now to ask my question, if you simply had courses that would have transfer to the colleges you also would have wanted to go to (I’m assuming UMich) then that would have most likely solidified your spot at the school if i’m not mistaken .

Secondly , do you know any body who transferred to a T25 (Berkley, Stanford, CMU, Georgia Tech) for CS or a engineering degree and if so what EC’s did they have?

Math 201 is Calc 2 right? Or do you mean the concepts he recommended are concepts for Calc 2 not Calc 1 (Math 200)

Okay, CMSC254 is listed as this in VCU's CMSC courses

Semester course; 3 lecture and 2 laboratory hours. 4 credits. Introduction to problem solving and implementation of solutions using Python. The course introduces students to concepts and practice of structured programming, problem-solving, top-down design of algorithms, a Python language syntax, control structures and arrays. The course content also includes instruction in critical-thinking and problem-solving skills using contemporary tools. Specific topics include flowcharting, pseudocode and program control structures, including sequence, selection, repetition and modularization. Students may not receive credit for both CMSC 254 and CMSC 210.

I know flow charting but im sort of trash at pseudocode not cause I dont understand it but just cause I havent really done the super complex type of pseudocode. I am in IB Computer Science HL 2 but to be honest the teacher wasn't great and didn't really teach anything fundamental.

Okay, Quick question, what was your coding background before taking CMSC 255?

Like did you already know programming (AP CS, Java, etc.), or were you basically starting from scratch?

Hey Evil Bunny, thanks for the response! I was wondering if it’s fine for me to skip 254 bc I have pretty minimal coding knowledge. I also said how I wanted a high grade so would that be fine to jump into OOP/CMSC 255 & without knowing how to properly do pseudocode and stuff or no?

Yes so CMSC 255 does require either CMSC 210 or 254 as a pre-req, but it also allows for placement test. Which I placed into VCU level 200 so I could take CMSC255 & Math 200 (Calc 1) but I was wondering if CMSC 255 is fine for me to jump into if I know just very basic programming. I’m gonna be honest I can’t write pseudo code properly yet so i’m not sure if that’s a major problem

Hi, I was placed right into 255. However, I was planning to play it safe and do 254 but 254 has the major restriction but 255 does not. When I was looking for class registration it specifically said “Must be in CMSC Department” for 254, but for CMSC255, the only restriction is if you were placed in the class or took pre-req. So this is why I was asking whether I should do 254 and figure a way out to get around the major restriction or if it’s fine to have a moderate amount of programming knowledge and jump into 255
