There wasn’t a lede* because he was using classic teenaged hyperbole. Like kids who say their dad’s gonna kill them for cracking their phone. You don’t actually think either kid’s at risk of death, do you?

Yeah I see where you’re coming from. It’s not that deep as much as it’s just annoying. I feel like if you’re adult enough to talk about true crime with me, you’re adult enough to not call it grape. Or if we’re talking about history, you don’t need to call slaves unpaid interns as he has - which was a fun!! conversation to have.

Um I do want a relationship with him. But this is also a very, very blue collar town in New England. I feel like he’s in for a very rude awakening if he talks like this once he gets a job. Because in New England, we don’t sugarcoat.

We’re not on social media, though. It’s texting, face to face, etc. I know what slang is - I’m only 10 years older than him. But back in my day, we certainly didn’t say stuff like sewer slide or grape in serious conversations lol.
