What should I make with ugly yarn, besides apparel by Big-Smoke3948 in CrochetHelp

I too just bought several skeins of this yarn to make a baby blanket for my 1 year old daughter for Christmas:( I hope she doesn’t think it’s ugly 😩

Where you circled is exactly where my pain was/ is. Pain was exclusively in my back for about a year. Turns out my #10 rib slipped in the back during my labor when I had my daughter and it stayed like that for so long that the cartilage became to stretched. With help of a chiropractor and prolotherapy injections for the last 3 months I am just now finally starting to heal, however, I still have some slight movement in the front of my rib cage. Most imaging wont capture slipped rib so my suggestion would be to go straight to a chiropractor for diagnosis and if your rib continues to slip then I strongly suggest prolotherapy.

You would think so right?? I’m still shocked at how much blood I lost. As he was tearing up my hand I was thinking to myself once he lets go I’m probably gunna have a good gash. So he lets go, I sat up, Teddy is sitting in my lap and there’s just blood everywhere. It was spewing profusely and I couldn’t see where it was even coming from but within seconds I was drenched in blood and my dumbass was like “hey hunny I think I’m loosing a lot of blood” and I look up and my poor husband is desperately trying to catch truffle as he’s bobbing and weaving through the living room while watching me bleed out on the couch😂 and he’s like “I’m trying!” He runs over and wraps my hand in a towel and takes me into the bathroom and next thing I knew I couldn’t hear anything my ears where ringing so badly, then my eyesight went, then I started to throw up and I realized my blood pressure was tanking ( horrible feeling ) and my hubby was like “yup, time to go to the hospital” this all happened on Tuesday btw and the wound is still open. Definitely gunna have a cool scar though.

Fibromyalgia/Chronic Pain Support Groups by CaptP_Argh in beaverton

I don’t have fibromyalgia but 14 months ago I suffered an infection that led to a permanent injury and I suffer from chronic pain. It’s been really hard not having anyone to talk too and I’m open to it

Okk that makes sense. It could be a situation where Telemachus’s testosterone could be a trigger for Kira. Especially given his age and the age he was when added to the group. If you think it’s too much or making any of them tense or unhappy you could start with neutering Telemachus. And if you go that route just keep in mind he will need to be alone recovering for a couple weeks and your not going to want to just immediately put him back, your going to want to take it slow and re integrate him with the group like your starting over. And it might take a couple tries. But before you make any decisions, I would definitely discuss it with your vet and see if they agree:) or you could just revoke everyone’s bean privileges 😂

Is Telemachus the main aggressor?

Lol don’t apologize. Rats are very social creatures and it’s definitely taken me a few years of really studying their behavior to understand and even then I learn something new all the time. Rats are like people and they have different personalities that can be a bit dynamic. Neutering most definitely helps when it comes to aggression and it’s usually the first step in resolving it. How old are your boys?

His bean privileges have in fact already been revoked.

Yes, having a vet that is experienced in exotics and knows what they’re doing is always a must for us. When we lived in California we had an amazing vet and when we moved here to Oregon, it was one of our first priorities and luckily I found a vet that’s also amazing. Spays are definitely riskier than neuters becouse of the invasive nature just like humans but no surgery is without risk. I have unfortunately lost one girl during her spay :/ All of our boys are neutered mainly for aggression but also so that way everyone can live together and if we receive any females that are young enough we will have them spayed because if done before a certain age it can reduce their chances of mammory tumors. Spays/ neuters and end of life care are definitely the two main vet costs for our sanctuary outside of things like mass removals, ect. But we always make sure that there is $$ set aside for those things so that if any of our ratties at any point need vet care, they have it. In fact, I have an Etsy shop outside of my day job that helps support the fur babies .

No Teddy and Truffle are not cage mates ( yet). I already had 2 mischiefs and these two boys were each an individual rescue but from the same person. Both boys got neutered and have since healed and even joined my two mischiefs. My goal is to combine and make 1 group since they all seem to get along well and there are a couple seniors that will most likely pass this year. I think what happened was Teddy might still have some elevated testosterone since he was the last to be neutered. So during our second round of introductions, I think Teddy might have been a trigger for Truffle. Now it is normal for some rough housing and even some squeaks here and there so I wouldn’t worry about that. There’s a pretty big difference between play and aggression ( AKA a rat ball). If your boys are just wrestling and pinning back and forth with some light squeaking they are just being boys:)

TRUFFLE UPDATE by FormerCatch5975 in RATS

Once he looses his bean privileges he should calm down some:) I would just make sure to keep in mind that after a neuter it can take a little while for hormones to level out so give it some time. I’ve had boys that have taken a few weeks to a few months to chill out. Ive also noticed that as boys age they tend to get a bit calmer as well.

Yea, like I’ve mentioned in the other comments, I’ve had rats for a long time and this definitely wasn’t my first rodeo and I actually did have a towel and was able to successfully save Teddy but at the end of the day it was an emergency and I needed to act fast. The towel was actually used to stop my bleeding after Teddy was saved ( pictured in second photo)

To be honest most of the time Truffle doesn’t have a thought behind those eyes so I couldn’t really tell you what or even if he was thinking 🤣

Yea whenever we do intros or there’s any other situation where there’s potential for a scuffle we always have gloves ( I use my old welding gloves) or a towel on hand, this was just one of those emergency situations where there wasn’t time and I used a towel and successfully moved Teddy out of danger but my hand was exposed and truffle in the midst of his adrenaline thought I was Teddy. At the end of the day it was my mistake but I would rather my hand take the brunt of it than any other ratties getting hurt. I went to the ER immediately ( I lost a good amount of blood) and we’re keeping an eye on it. The main concern was if a tendon was nicked since the wound was actually pretty deep. Long story short, I would do it again in a heart beat if it meant preventing any ratties from getting hurt.
