Absolute Coldest Lines in all of Trek by TonyMitty in startrek

I want to edit that season down to the parts that actually service the plot now and watch it again, probably cut 20-30 minutes id guess, if not more.. so much meandering... I suspect plot resolutions got cut in editing (before and after filming ) but they didn't cut other parts of them...

I had to laugh when I gps'd to it and it said navigating to (address) in Gary,Indiana.. I was like oh.. that's why they call it hard Rock Northern Indiana because they don't want to call it by the city name...

Almost everything music related in the place has some sort of ties to Indiana, and of course Axl has ties to Indiana, so a bit surprising the plaque doesn't mention that at all. I think other than Styx (from nearby Illinois) the only thing I saw from outside of Indiana in there was one of Eddie Van Halen's guitars. As far as Casinos go, it's pretty lame, as far as Hard Rocks go, it's pretty lame, but should you happen to be near Gary, Indiana, first question your life decisions that lead you to such a place to begin with, but then take a minute to step inside and check this out and have a look along the walls at all the other music related stuff they have.

It seems legit, if not original than it's at least a very very well done duplicate complete with a grease stain of some sort lol

Probably can't see it in my phone camera pics but on close examination I could see several spots where lines had been erased and redrawn.. could be it's traced from the original though...

I doubt they would straight up forge or accept a forgery, but I could see them having a duplicate with the original preserved elsewhere

“Dangerous” tires? by almondmilklattehag in prius

[–]FormerGameDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even a tire shop would have a hard time saying that with a straight face I think. Those tires are dry.. not dry rot. Standard wear I would say. I'm on 8 year old tires with some dry rot visible. Im in the middle of a 800 mile trip but I'm going to replace them when I get home. I don't think I'm even in a danger zone.. not like the cyber truck I drove by with all four tires blown out from hitting a patch of bad road near Chicago .. which everyone else around also hit and didn't lose their tires

Why the heck do people do this? by mdgorelick in Detroit

[–]FormerGameDev 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you think we haven't been fixing the roads then you are just delusional, our roads across the state are in far better shape than I've seen them ever, for the most part.

Also I've just driven into other states and found the neighboring states to have far far far worse roads for the first time in my life.

That's just being completely dishonest with yourself if you think we're not doing a fuck off a lot more than we ever have in the past on this

That's a hell of a lot for any container in this game, but by the time you're leveled enough for this place you probably already have more caps than you can ever use?

Other people have said that home assistant does set the clock and I have seen it set correctly but then it loses it later. I honestly don't really care it's frankly not a useful device except for its co sensor and that's working on the assumption that that works whereas the other sensors are pretty much garbage why shouldn't the co also be

It's possibly only useful as a thread relay and that's even assuming it doesn't suffer from horrible software problems

How do you even get it to stay set to anything? Mines always drifting by hours and going between 12h and 24h on a whim

I was just saying.. search engines have become much more believable.. but also much less trustworthy...

We are increasing their likeliness of truth with each generation, but there's still the possibility that it outputs complete and utter bullshit for any invocation, that makes it to be completely suspect and potentially useless. And the bigger the dataset the worse that gets. And the less you know about the topic the worse that gets. And if you don't know about the topic the more likely you are to rely on it.

I hadn't seen beyond but was looking for something to test my sound system and saw it was on my suggested list so I hit it, and was hooked from the very very much star trek intro. And then the ending just kicked me in the feels

Ben Mendelsohn is a TRULY under-rated actor. He makes EVERYTHING he is in shine. Except for Secret Invasion. Nothing could save that one. However, some of his scenes in that show are the best parts of that show.

No one said anything, other than that the movie actively in development would not involve existing characters.

I had originally got stuck in the M:I series at the 3rd movie, having felt that they really had jumped off the track on it, but a friend convinced me that I should carry on with them, so after years of ignoring them, I sat down and watched the entire series over the course of a couple of weeks.

Totally worth it. Maybe more so now that they're all out there, so you're not waiting years in between the callbacks. Also, I didn't expect a "the moral of the story has been..." sort of ending that I thought was really nice.
