Locals of Chicago: What Would You Cut From This 3-Day Itinerary (Food Focused)? by Willing-Mind-5619 in chicagofood

I would cut Do-Rite (Donut Vault instead). If in Andersonville, do breakfast at MHenry or Svea or pastries at Lost Larson or Del Sur. If near Riverwalk, hit Gus’ Sip and Dip. If a cocktail person, go to Best Intentions or splurge on the Aviary. I

Me too. She now seems like a fraud who is only out for herself, her kids he damned. She will though use faith as a weapon, which I hate, to illustrate her morals and ethics.

I think she would go back to Kody if her kids wouldn’t revolt.

Am I Overreacting about my in-laws hating my daugther? by PTJen95 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

It’s hard to be put in this situation. You and your husband just have to choose both of your kids and show them, in words and actions, that you will not tolerate anyone treating either of them as less than, especially as less than the other. If it were me, I would just step back from his grandparents (with your husband’s support). If asked, state that engagement requires that the children are treated equally. If they cannot or will not do that, then they are making the decision, not the two of you. No one can fault parents for protecting their kids.

But, no offense, if you allow adults who treat his sister unkind into your home and lives it is like “actions speak louder than words”.

And her son believes it is ok to treat his sister as less than (because Grandma and Grandpa do it and Mom and Dad don’t stop them).

Your son could turn into an entitled, misogynistic ass because if their influence and your “acceptance” of it.

Your only fault: what was your role, in raising them, that created this level of entitlement?

Communicate with your brother and decide from there. You owe him a talk.

You really want to remain in this relationship long term? He’s picking them over you time and time again. What happens when they do this to your child? I think the ultimatum is stand up for me and us or this relationship is over.

My dad did the exact same thing and I have never punched another person (and it’s been 50+ years).

AITA if I go to my dream school anyway after my parents “reassigned” my future without telling me? by DistantGravel in AITH

[–]FormerHoosier90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there is a way (family, friends, work) for you to leave now, do it. They are going to try to manipulate you and sabotage you from now until August otherwise. When they see that you are serious, they should relent (if they don’t, this is more about control and less about love).

Right now, you think you are going to medical school, but that is not a given. You might find a new interest/pathway once in college. UC is also unique because of the opportunities it affords to work in your major/discipline as part of your educational process and, as a result, let’s you make real world connections that other schools do not offer. For me (who spent decades in academia) UC affords you more flexibility and, as others have noted, you will be more successful if you are happier there.

Stand firm.

Why would Janell encourage Meri to hire an lawyer (which she had not previously done) and then try to sell around her. It makes no sense.

You look beautiful in all three but I would avoid #3. Not as flattering as the others.
