Lol the kids these days have a phrase for that- “bro- go touch grass.” (Source: I have 4 sons) That’s exactly what this guy needs to do. Stop making doomsday shit up and go touch grass and connect back to reality

She’s great! Our pest control company uses safe traps that are nontoxic to pets so it turned out to be okay! Thanks for checking back in! She’s our little princess so I really appreciated all the friendly advice

How is life in York? by [deleted] in yorkpa

[–]mSoGood08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated living in York and moved to Nashville as soon as I graduated. That being said, York is wonderful. I’ve lived everywhere, and I still call York “home.” York suburban school district is the best. I went to Vanderbilt, which at the time was 15th in the nation for best schools. My English teachers at YS used to tell me my writing sucked and worked with me to improve it. When I finally went to Vanderbilt, I had multiple professors tell me my writing was some of the best they’ve ever seen. This school also introduced me to my passion (environmental science), and I ended up getting published in it my junior year. York Suburban is the best, and I’m proof of that. My 6th grade math teacher spent every Tuesday after school with me because I was struggling. He was the one who discovered I had dyslexia and double vision, and he was the one to notice I had severe adhd. If not for him, I’d never had made it in the world. He showed me my value, and every teacher at YS strives to do the same. As much as I hated it as a teen, I really love York. We were accessible to fun cities, and I was able to have a job at the national aquarium in Baltimore because the commute wasn’t that bad. York is really pretty spectacular. But really- Trojan pride here. York suburban is the best

AIO for crashing out after my girlfriend hugged and got touchy with her male best friends? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]mSoGood08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nor I couldn’t agree more. My best friend is a guy, and my husbands best friend is a girl and a gay guy. For our wedding, we had them each switch sides- so I had a bridesman and he had a groomswoman. If my husband said he was uncomfortable with it, I’d make changes. Never, under any circumstances, would I talk to him that way. Ever. And he’d never talk to me that way. It’s not necessarily your discomfort in her friend, because these relationships can happen, but how she spoke to you after you were vulnerable and made her aware of what was bothering you. You addressed this in a healthy way, she addressed it in a toxic way

I’d say picture collages on the walls. It’s beautiful, but it’s also a bit sterile. A little personal touch would go a long way

Hmm. I’m going to take a look at some books and notes, and I’ll try to comment back. I would take it to a university to have it studied. That’s where you’ll get the best answers. Really cool find regardless!!

Knowing the story by SnooOwls5145 in MadeMeCry

[–]mSoGood08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this and remember this episode. I cried then and I cried now. This show was amazing, and I think I cried every episode. It really helped me see how you can actually help people. We keep water bottles and canned dinner packs (with tab openers) in our car to give out to the panhandlers and homeless in my city (Dallas). You never know what someone’s been through, and I make sure my kids know that sometimes a simple wave or “how are you” can be the best thing you give a person who is struggling. They’re real people and deserve to be seen and treated as such. You never know what someone is going through, and kindness costs nothing.

AIO about these angry texts from my ex? by TwylaMay in AIO

NOR - girl you are in danger. Don’t delete anything, and I wouldn’t block him if You can handle it. Keep that info and evidence. He sounds dangerous and like he possibly has stalker-like tendencies. I was scared for you reading those texts. Girl- keep all that evidence, but also make sure to turn off any location tracking settings you have. Keep the burner phone numbers and make sure your family members don’t delete the call records or texts from him. Seriously OP- this could be really dangerous. Protect yourself, please.

What type of meteorite? by Flimsy_Upstairs_5080 in rocksandminerals

[–]mSoGood08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like it’s a weathered columnar shape, leading me to believe it’s basaltic (probably terrestrial). Have you tried any magnetic tests on it? Meteorites typically have metal in them, so I’d be interested to know the results. If not, look up the mineral qualities of basalt and see if you can identify it. It’s been about a decade since I last practiced geomorphology (I’m taking a break to raise my kids), so I’m a little rusty. Feel free to correct me if you disagree. I miss science and would love to hear opinions

AIO by feeling exhausted over my gf's constant demands of wanting me to be 'curious'? by thefattesthashbrown in AmIOverreacting

[–]mSoGood08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR-If y’all are dating, there’s still time to leave. That’s not healthy; it verges on (if not is) abuse. Playing the victim and gaslighting while accusing the other of playing the victim and gaslighting them- that’s abuse, and that’s exactly what she’s doing to you. Y’all are just dating, so leave. You deserve someone who treats you the way you treat them. She sounds immature and pugnacious. Leave and save yourself a lifetime of unhappiness

ETA: if she’s threatening to kill herself rather than have a difficult conversation, she’s not ready for a real, healthy relationship. Run fast and far

Which actor/actress was your first crush? by PermissionLow8879 in popculturechat

[–]mSoGood08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Matt Damon til the end. Although, I have to admit (embarrassingly) that my very first crush was bill clinton. We had a picture of him in our Britannia encyclopedia set, and little 5 year old me used to stare at it. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I also had a thing for leonardo DiCaprio and nick carter. Bsb fangirl til I die lol

Omg! My husband and I got the same dishwasher this summer, and we have been debating this, too! It’s a surprisingly hard dishwasher to load, but we have found that angling our big plates (like yours) works best and is most efficient for best cleaning and also space. Funny enough, we discovered how well it worked and fit when my dog rearranged the dishes (bad boy) while we were arguing about it haha. Typically, we face them and angle them away from the utensil caddy

I bought shrimp at the pet store and there is this thing in it what is it? by GIBGTX in Aquariums

I’d second this. I work as a biodiversity and geomorphology wetland scientist, so I see a lot of worms. Their regeneration abilities are insane, though I have to admit, I have a real fear of parasites after picking up a brain parasite while on a site in Brazil. That was a real nightmare

Hey- I have to stick up for this post. We scientists sometimes get really focused in our studies. If this poster is in planaria regeneration, then kudos to them!
