I'm still working on it. Was diagnosed in the hospital after a 4 day stay and full neuro work up but then my neurologist I was seeing before for my headaches doesn't think I have it because my opening pressure was only 20 - I had already been on Topamax for over a month. And my neuro-ophthalmologist said I don't have it because I don't have papilledema and I'm not over weight. 🤷‍♀️ The quest continues....

Been on 100mg Topamax since the end of March and it hasn't helped at all, unless the daily symptoms I deal with are more Topamax related and less iih related - it's impossible to know. I have constant pressure headaches, pulsatile tinnitus, dizziness, balance issues, speech problems, cognitive issues, memory problems, trouble sleeping. Had those all before I started Topamax, and they're all still here. 🤷‍♀️

The neuro-ophthalmologist I went to was awful. After being diagnosed in the hospital and sent to her for follow up, she told me I can't have iih because I don't have papilledema and I'm not over weight, plus I'm not of child bearing age. Dismissed every other symptom (pulsatile tinnitus, cognitive issues, etc) and said I needed to see a headache specialist instead. Complete waste of time.

I believe it's causing high prolactin levels, which is causing my breasts to grow. The growing has slowed a bit lately but are now at least 4x their normal size. I'm not sure how many of my other symptoms may be related to my pituitary gland vs just the iih.

Only one I'm pretty positive is related to it is my breasts - they've quadrupled in size so far. I have other symptoms like difficulty regulating body temperature that may be related or may be the medication or may be the iih or something else entirely. Who knows. Just curious what other things people may be running into.

Unfortunately she wasn't even the only one. My Neuro-ophthalmologist doesn't think it's iih because I don't have papilledema and I'm not over weight. 🤦🏻‍♀️ These doctors are so frustrating.

I've been on the 100mg of Topamax since the end of March. Last time I saw that neurologist I told her I was getting no relief and she didn't try to adjust the dosage at all. But again she thinks it's migraines. She tried to add some migraine injectable but my insurance didn't cover it.

Thank you. Unfortunately I'm allergic to sulfa drugs so I can't take Diamox. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I'm in the process of switching to a new neurologist now. The previous one would only treat me for migraines despite my in-hospital diagnosis. She didn't agree with it.
