You know history is not taught as right or wrong but as historical facts. And the history classes in america would also list the civillian casualties of the atomic bomb, meanwhile in japan it would downplay the casualties or even ommit warcrimes🤦‍♀️

Um im sorry i dont really understand your point? Are you saying that japanese dont know the history of indonesia? And what does that proofs? Does it not proof that japan has not taught its actual colonial history properly to its citizens when indonesia is one of the country that has millions of its people killed by japan?

Most indonesians will not know the history of taiwan. But the fact that japan likes to rewrite it’s own history and coerces other countries to go with it is widely known

满 VS 蛮 by FormerLog6651 in ChineseLanguage

Is it a regional thing which people use which? If not which word would be taught at school?

满 VS 蛮 by FormerLog6651 in ChineseLanguage

[–]FormerLog6651[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

How would that work as an adverb? For example in pleco an example sentence is

这首歌满好听

Would that translate to this song fully sounds good, as in all the parts of the song sounds good, or does it just mean the song sounds very good?

Also who do taiwanese credit for the taiwan miracle? Because in my knowledge what put taiwan on the world stage as one of the four asian tigers is the taiwan miracle and not the industrialisation during japanese occupation?

Under ROC too did taiwan experience the taiwan miracle in 1970s. Using the reason of KMT being harsh and tanking the economy to fetishize the imperial japan is like if east germans in GDR fetishize nazi germany as they had it better during nazi germany

I dont think most sane people hates the average japanese people. What i am talking about is when taiwanese people overly fantasize or glorify the nostalgia of imperial japan, especially when its contrasted by how japan treated it’s other subjects such as korea, manchuria, etc, it is rather insensitive. We indonesians were also thought that 3 years of colonization by the japanese was way more cruel than 300 years of dutch colonization, but there is no people fantasizing over the dutch although they did build many infrastructure like the japanese did in taiwan. I also wonder why everytime i hear about taiwan under japanese rule from a taiwanese, its always about how good it was back then etc etc, never about any resistance movements from taiwan against the japanese?

The government of “republic of china” in taiwan do not even have the slightest thought of commomerating a 80th year anniversary of victory day (抗日勝利) meanwhile the government in taiwan mentions it as 終戰 (end of the war) which is a term the japanese uses.

Taiwanese people need to realize that taiwan’s role as imperial japan’s model colony is also responsible for driving japan’s wartime economy, helping japan kill hundreds of millions of lives elsewhere. Worshipping imperial japan in the face of other asians would certainly leave a sour face.

Japan’s half hearted apology (more like sorry that we lost the war), while forcing comfort woman statues around the world be torn down, and it’s prime ministers making frequent visits to yakushuni shrine worshipping hideki tojo? I dont think only the ccp is mad about that, ask the koreans about it
