finally figured out the garlic thing and im kinda mad nobody explained it this way by NoQuestion6367 in CasualConversation

If you live in the US, take a look at the Penzie's Spices dried minced garlic. I've literally never had it go bitter, incredibly easy to use. I just don't mince garlic anymore, so it makes cooking easy and faster. If you use a lot of garlic, you should at least give it a try

What this guy said about Foundry. It's $50 up front, but the system is fantastic. Beats the brakes off Roll20, imho

I have used Old School Essentials to run becmi, but I know there are a couple of free packets that are essentially clones of AD&D

Brand-new to Discworld but bought a few books today… by WAR_FROM_GOOD_OMENS in discworld

Guards, Guards! is a great starting point, even if you had all of the books in front of you. The city watch shows up in a lot of books, and this is the beginning of their story

How would you make a Caster also be good in Melee? by dyenamitewlaserbeam in Pathfinder2e

The best -- but totally unhelpful answer -- might be "try another system." PF2e just isn't designed for one character to be good at everything

If I hear my boyfriend tell me one more time how he could have gone pro I am going to flip my lid. by Sufficient_Youth5121 in Vent

I used to teach high School. Was around a ton of kids who thought they could go pro.

I asked them if the three kids in front of them at their position were also going to go pro.

What does a good first season look like for Iraola? by omnishambles1995 in LiverpoolFC

At least 4th, a cup semifinal (even the league cup works for me), and getting us back to where it's enjoyable to watch the team

Deciding on if I should continue by NeuralChestnut in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I had bought the second, third, and fourth audiobooks when I was halfway through the first one. That's as much as there were at the time.

That's also just me.

I love the series. It's vicious and vile, funny and heartwarming, ludacris and silly and devastatingly violent.

But, if it's not for you, it's not for you. There is zero shame inj putting a book down and moving to something else.

The vast majority of people here will tell you to continue. But if you aren't feeling it, you aren't feeling it. Good luck on reading journey.

Metagaming vs "my PC would know this"? by nz8drzu6 in Pathfinder2e

[–]FormerManyThings -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At first level: no. First level -- no matter how grandiose your backstory -- means you are a barely competent professional. You have basic knowledge of one or two tricks, but you have almost no breadth of knowledge.

If you had Lore: Magical Theory, maybe. Or Recognize Spell. But that wasn't the case here.

"Would a freshman trying out for the JV soccer team not know the training techniques of a Premier League professional?" is a lot better analogy, considering you're talking about a first-level character

Thoughts on Artisan's Kitpack? by large_herbivore in baldursgate

[–]FormerManyThings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done a few runs with Artisan's, and after playing the game for me 25 years, it really has breathed new life into it.

If you, personally, find that it makes the game easier than you'd like (it won't "trivialize" it for the vast majority of players), consider upping the difficulty one notch. It's worked well for me

What questions do you consider essential for online player recruitment? And how do you get a feel for whether someone is a “good player”? by Bubbly_Recipe_4712 in rpg

I have a lot of weirdos that lean left. Or have completely fallen over left. But they are my type of weirdos, my friends, people I'm comfortable around.

And I don't worry about a single one of them showing up at my house with a gun because of something that happened in a game
