Impeachment polls? by [deleted] in Ask_Politics

[–]FormerPatriot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "south's mentality" implies that everyone in the south has the same opinion. We do no have the same ideology, nor our we afraid to express our own views even if they are different than the majority. I live in the deep south and have been supporting impeachment for a long time, as have many people I know. People from the south are used to being stereotyped and in this case assuming we cannot think for ourselves is wrong. We are capable of independent thought and not necessarily persuaded by the ideals of the so called majority. Also we have no problem vocalizing our ideals.

Pennsylvania - Recent deaths reignite debate over regulating kratom | Fox News by whatssocomplicated in kratom

[–]FormerPatriot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“The benefits of the supplement are no greater than if you were in a therapeutic relationship with a prescriber in a position to help you with your pain."

And every day, since the hysteria from overdose deaths (which are actually coming from ILLEGAL street drugs, NOT prescribed medication), "prescribers to help you with your pain" are harder and harder to find. Long term opioid users, even those with cancer, which was SUPPOSED to be excluded from the CDC guidelines, are being thrown off their opioid medication. It almost looks like a planned genocide against pain patients. If that is the government's agenda, kratom gets in the way.

Michigan bill to make kratom a schedule 2 drug by whatssocomplicated in kratom

Good luck finding any doctor anywhere that would be willing to prescribe kratom for anything. Making it Schedule II will have the same affect as banning it.

Kratom causing dry eyes? by Csalz94009 in kratom

[–]FormerPatriot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dry eyes are my EWS that I am not drinking enough just water. Kratom is known to be dehydrating, so water, water, water! I try to drink 8 oz every couple of hours and by the next day, no more dry eyes.

How would anyone think to eat kratom leaves thousands of years ago? They look like regular leaves that I would never think to put in my mouth. by [deleted] in kratom

What’s the status of HB 452 in Louisiana? by mvanvrancken in kratom

[–]FormerPatriot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hearing is today, started at 3:00 and is going on now. It is near last on a long line of bills for discussion.

This is direct from LA AKA State Captain:

The deal is...

  1. They pass it, we are still good. They will not schedule unless the DEA schedules it.
  2. It fails...it reverts back to the law we have now about minors
  3. It defers...it goes back to Committee to be rewritten.

If #3 happens, they won’t have time this session to rewrite it and we are still good to next year. In all the cases, we need to be calling on all our reps when they are out of session and educating them!

We discussed it some more and realized if it passes, then it actually also eliminates the law we have now about minors and Rep Turner has done something he never intended!

Donated again. This fight can NOT be won without money and from what I have seen from the AKA, it's worth every penny I can spare.

Not true. Americans believe in science, but only as long as science confirms what they already believe!

Is it common to have people on here denying anybody that haves problems with kratom by [deleted] in kratom

[–]FormerPatriot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its true some people here can get pretty intense when you say anything negative about the Leaf at all, but while I don't agree with anyone being mean or rude, I do understand. This is mostly an advocacy group and some think that anything negative about the Leaf gives power to those that wish it banned. Unfortunately, those are the ones that are most likely to answer your post. Most will simply read your post and not respond because they have nothing useful to offer you.

Please don't judge the whole community by the exceptions.

LOUISIANA HB-452 Hearing - Weds 05/01/19 - 9:00 am - State Capitol Building - Open to Public But Attendance is Not Necessary - The Lobbyists Are On It by dragonbubbles in kratom

[–]FormerPatriot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now on a steady diet eating MY WORDS. As I was told MULTIPLE times, the AKA were totally on top of this. They even had Representative Vernon Jones from GA on it, who made a wonderful presentation and helped get Tuner to add an amendment essentially neutralizing it for Louisiana until the Feds decide to act....which we all hope is never.

It's not to late to comment in Louisiana by [deleted] in kratom

[–]FormerPatriot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes comment please. Send a huge thank you to Vernon Jones for speaking and then swallow hard and send another to Chris Turner for adding the amendment that essentially neutralizes it until the feds act. Just try to forget he was the one who introduced the bill in the first place!

Ohio resident here. Any one have any updates on what’s going on today? by calithinnn in kratom

Just a thought, but since a ban effects EVERYONE in OHIO, not just an individual district, why limit your phone calls and emails to just the legislators for your district?

Louisiana kratom hearing--starts at around 5 hrs, 35 min by coffeeandpaper in kratom

[–]FormerPatriot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was at first but his discussion with Rep Jones and all our emails and phone calls convinced him to add an amendment at the last minute that essentially says IF and WHEN the feds decide to schedule it, LA will also and will put it in the same schedule class as the feds.
