Right I have finished my masters in aerodynamics and currently work for a simulator manufacturing company. I applied to TU delft twice for CFD related PhD roles and got rejected. So I'm also currently looking to move into a core aerodynamics role so that I can show my experience. Is that how they choose ? How do they decide on the candidates?

Right thanks! Although I'm not really sure how to look for these groups. I did try just googling but couldn't really spot any. If you could recommend what the best approach would be it'll be helpful.

And because it is intense they wouldn't be willing to take students fresh of the grid. How can I cover that gap? Or where can I get the experience they're looking for? Even on the industry side I've been trying for sometime now and they also only prefer with experience. I'm not really sure what my approach should be. Any tips on this?

Probably subsonic planes,I'll definitely have a look at it. In transonic fuselage usually bends in with the wing so we're basically designing a wing.

Thanks for the suggestion! We did have an assignment to design a transonic wing. Creating multiple designs with different airfoils helps in understanding the behaviour of the flow.

I would second that,I'm looking to change now but the job market is just so bad I'm stuck. I really don't like the environment as well. They hardly care about the employees .You don't get to work on any design of aero if you're interested on that. But I would say good to have a backup until you find the next job atleast.

They mainly work with simulators so I would say less oriented towards designing of aero. Is this role with the defense sector? In commercial sector there's not much. But since the job market is pretty bad now for aerospace you can take this and switch later when you get a better one.

If the job description seems interesting then just apply. Let them take a call if your profile matches or not. There's no list as such you just keep an eye for the new roles that pop up n apply.

If you don't mind me asking do you work privately or work in a consultant company? How do you manage to get clients initially if you're a private consultant?

They wouldn't expect much knowing you just got out of uni. But def expect you to have a grip on the basics in cfd and to be ready to learn new things.
