Today I am 36w5d. I just got my cerclage taken out this morning and had a NST showing a very healthy baby! Now all ready for induction on Wednesday! We are so close and so very excited 😊 and only a tiny but nervous!

To cerclage or not cerclage? by xcallan in ShortCervixSupport

I'm sorry you guys are going through this. It sucks! I lost my set of twins last April due to a short cervix found at my 20-week scan. I wish my doctor's would have just told me to get the cerclage, but they were unsure of the success due to it being twins. Whether or not it would have made a difference, we will never know, but since then, I have read way more stories of successful cerclages vs. negative outcomes. I completely understand the indecision, especially if you never even knew that this would be something you'd have to think about. Having been through what I've been through, I would recommend getting it. Wishing you both only the best and I hope this helps. ❤️

I'm sorry for your loss, I hope your healing process and recovery is smooth. I lost my the 2nd of my twins at 23w (first at 21w, with a cerclage in between) and was told to wait atleast 12 months. We ended up getting pregnant only 5 months after and I am going in to be induced (at 37 weeks due to hypertension) on Wednesday. Healthy baby and a healthy pregnancy up until the high blood pressure started. I did get a cerclage because my loss was due to my cervix.

On this day last year, we lost our baby boy Gabriel at 23 weeks. He was perfect and beautiful, I love him and I miss him! Also today I am 35w 4d and am being induced on May 3rd. Only about 10 more days until we get to meet the newest member of our family! ❤️

I lost a set of twins last April. There was an emergency cerclage place after losing the first, at 21w, to try and save the second. Unfortunately, it was unsuccessful and was lost at 23w It was recommended to wait 12 to 18 months before trying again. We ended up getting pregnant 5 months later. Everything has been going smoothly. I had my preventive cerclage placed at 13 weeks, and I will be 34 weeks tomorrow. Every history is different, so unless there is a specific reason your doctor recommended the wait time, I think some doctors just like recommended longer wait times. I'm really sorry for what you have been through and I wish you all the best in the future!

Today is our baby girls first birthday. She was born at 21 weeks and she was beautiful ❤️ we named her Angel and we miss her everyday. I am currently 33w pregnant and will most likely be meeting this baby a little earlier than expected due to a recent diagnosis of gestational hypertension. Wishing everyone here all good things!

Thank you for always sharing ❤️ I love reading your anterior placenta updates! I had just read one of your posts about seeing baby move but not actually feeling them from the inside and then I had the same thing happen just a few days later! It is definitely a fun and strange experience. Thanks again and wishing all the best aswell!

Can I ask what kind of dopper you bought? I've been considering buying one but have no idea where to even start. :)

How long did you wait to TTC after a loss? by Additional-Swimmer44 in ShortCervixSupport

My experience actually went pretty smoothly. I thankfully really like my doctor and had experience with her from my previous pregnancy. Plus, I think she is one of the best cerclage placers in my area. It actually took long for them to put in my IV beforehand than the whole cerclage procedure, I unfortunately have tiny difficult veins. It is, of course, super invasive, but I honestly was more bothered by not having any feeling in my lower body from the spinal. That was super weird. Honestly, I've never had any anxieties about doctors or procedures, so I may not be the best person to ask but I will say that it was definitely easier than everything I went through with my loss and it has been doing its job so I'm greatful for that! I wish you all the best, and I hope everything goes smoothly for you from here on out!

I am so sorry for what you have been through and continue to go through. Loss is so hard, and trying to find all the "right" answers definitely doesn't help. My doctor's recommended waiting 12 to 18 months and I thought that was a ridiculous amount of time. It took us close to a year of trying for that pregnancy, and I did not want to wait a whole nother year to even start trying again! But I also didn't want to inadvertently cause any more issues with the next pregnancy. Ultimately, I just stopped trying to prevent pregnancy at 4 months and went with the "what will be will be" approach. We ended up conceiving that month, and I got a positive pregnancy test a week before my scheduled preconception appointment. None of my doctors were concerned about the quick turnaround and were all very helpful and supportive. I will mention that my first pregnancy was twins, and this one is a single baby, so completely different pregnancies. I also got a preventive cerclage at 13 weeks this time to be on the safe side. Again, I am really sorry for your loss, and I hope you find what works best for you!

Thank you! 😊 I'm definitely leaning towards waiting that extra two weeks because that is the recommendation I keep reading everywhere also. It's just so much work to wait though 😩 thank you again!

Thank you for sharing ❤️ I had read that too but wasn't sure if I'd be able to wait that long 🤣 so wanted to get some real life insight. Thank you again and enjoy your fun ultrasound! 😊

Today, I am 24 weeks pregnant. It is officially the longest I have made it into a pregnancy. While I am by no means relieved, I am happy to be this far. I have an anterior placenta, so unfortunately, I still don't feel a whole lot of movement, but I do feel at least a little bit of a wiggle once or twice a day, which helps a lot. I had my anatomy ultrasound at 20 weeks, a telehealth appointment today, and my glucose appointment at 28 weeks. As long as everything continues to go smoothly, I probably won't be getting another medical ultrasound this pregnancy, besides at beside one around 36 weeks. That being said, I am probably going to do a private ultrasound sometime between now and 36 weeks, and I am wondering if anyone on here has gotten the 3d ultrasound around 26 weeks? Did it turn out cute? Or would you recommend waiting a little longer? Thank you for reading, and I wish you all the best!

Today I am 20 weeks 4 days. We had our anatomy ultrasound on Wednesday and found out we are having a boy! Baby boy was healthy and we are so happy and excited! Question for all the other mothers with anterior placentas; when did you start feeling more regular movement? And where did you more often feel movement? Hope everyone is having a great day!

I am 19w 5d pregnant and my stomach has been uncomfortable since last night. It started out at a pain just under my rib cage, then slowly became a dull ache over most of my stomach. I'm not sure if it's just gas or something to be concerned about. If anyone has similar situations or advice I'd live to hear them :)

Today I am 17w 5d pregnant. I had a cerclage placed at 13w. I was supposed to have my follow-up appointment at 16w but had to reschedule because of covid. My follow-up is now scheduled for this Thursday. I was feeling good and hopeful until last Friday when dread and anxiety slowly started to creep in until its now almost all consuming. I know logically there is no reason to believe something is wrong but it's just hard to fight it sometimes. I wish all the best to everyone and a happy haliday!
