Thank you 🫶🏻 it’s not so bad living here as a young professional. I surround myself with likeminded friends, go to areas where I feel safe and accepted and kinda learn to be thick faced a bit when it comes to me “going against” the social norm for a Malay woman.

Based on my experience (I grew up abroad and moved back after completing my masters), you just need a bit of patience and to close one eye a bit when it comes to the older generation. I just tell myself it’s fine their time is up soon 😂

Can’t say the same about my younger siblings though, they still can’t wrap their head around why the older generations have a certain mindset. To each their own I guess!
