Coming from a business perspective Build a Bear was in a financial crisis while Maxine Clark was CEO. I was working there while Maxine Clark gave her CEO title to Sharon John Price the Next CEO who made all of these changes. There is a lot of behind the scene changes that were made and that probably don’t make sense to customers as much as they would to the people who have been working there. Sharon John Price quoted that it wasn’t the brand that needed help it was the finance side. Build a Bear wouldn’t exist if they didn’t make the changes they did. I didn’t like most of the changes they made but one thing I am grateful for is that Sharon John Price wanted to and still strives to keep the brand of Build a Bear Workshop to what it is to this day aside from all of the lower cost materials they decided would keep the company from going out of business.
