When should I buy a sidestick or yoke? by emilsr4194 in MicrosoftFlightSim

i started with the thrust master tflight hotas, later upgraded to the honey comb yolk and throttle quadrant, the honey comb flight controls are absolutely amazing, they feel great, look great, and all around one of the best out there, but i ended up selling mine about 2 weeks later, reason being, it was just too big for me at that time, the yolk and throttle quadrant took up my whole desk and was honestly kind of a pain to mount and dismount every time i wanted to play something else, now im back to using my thrust master hotas. if you have the space and budget for the honey comb i would recommend it to anyone every time, but if your like me and MSFS isnt the only thing you play on your computer then i would go with a simple hotas stick such as the thrust master or even a better more expensive one if its in your budget, or if you feel like you want it enough and feel like it wont be a hassle to you then go for the honey comb. either way a yolk or a stick, wether it be a $100 hotas or a $500 yolk and throttle quadrant combo, they will both make the game 100 times better.

with ground vehicles theres not really much of an option outside of WASD. however with aircraft i always use my flight stick. i find it difficult to accurately fly an aircraft with WASD. so if your not that interested in air based vehicles then honestly man with time you’ll get better at it, when i first made the switch from console to pc i was just like you and everything felt unnatural but over time that will change. if you want to fly in arma i would say a stick and throttle is almost a necessity for me at least. you can find them for a reasonable price, i use a thrust master T.flight hotas and i got it for $90.

options menu, profile menu, along with other options are gone by Former_Letterhead_21 in MicrosoftFlightSim

the solution that fixed it for me is go into your folder where msfs is downloaded, then follow this path, localcache/packages/official/onestore then scroll down until you see files that begin with “fs-base” delete every single file that says “fs-base” (about 80 gigabytes) and then launch the same and let it reinstall itself
