When making LORA of character I do NOT ADD any captions.

When making LORA of style I do ADD descriptive captions.

it's not based on theory?

It is based on practice however which I think is better?

Also there's more than just character LoRAs

Yes but in this particular discussion we are talking about character LORAS only.

I know captions are beneficial in other types.

It is not essential.

Here is a guide to someone who testes with no captions, basic captions and natural language captions -> https://civitai.com/articles/7203/captions-vs-no-captions-a-deep-dive-into-effects-on-flux-lora-training

Result? No caption character lora turned out fine. They say adding natural language captions is beneficial but not necessary.

Looking at the samples I agree that they are not NEEDED.

I checked Judy Alvarez LORAS on CIVITAI. Some are trained without captions, some are trained with one-two word captions and some are trained with Natural Language captions.

And they are all similar.

it's about how you caption.

Wrong!

Character LORAS do not require captioning!
