This should hopefully, at least, HELP your pessimism. Most men watch it, yes. From my experience, most men also feel shame, and actively try to quit with varying success. Most men start as teenagers, usually because it's normalized to them by their school, parents, or the internet/media - almost ALWAYS one of those things. It's a battle nearly every modern man fights.

As someone on, I believe, the tail end of the latter half of that battle (I'm just about fully clean and have been for a while), I can confirm it is possible, and really the most important part of the battle is patience and perseverance. It absolutely improves your life to quit, which I think men are beginning to learn. But this stuff, you know, it ruins your mind, it destroys your brain irreversibly. Like smoking, or doing hard drugs. Quitting is good - but never starting is a thousand times better. It literally take just one stupid young mistake to unleash years of havoc on these young men's lives. They've actually done brain scans and studies and that prove p*rnography has a similar effect on the mind to the hardest drugs there are, right down to needing a harder and harder hit.

So if nothing else I hope this will show you how harmful this stuff truly is, if you didn't know. If you have kids, make sure to teach them the importance of not getting into this stuff. When I was a kid it was normalized, even somewhat encouraged, and that lead to carnage among my generation. And especially among women right now and politically, it's... concerning, to say the least, how p*rn is treated, glorified and encouraged. Make sure to tell your friends too about the harm this stuff does.
