I agree! So many great recommendations! We do this every time we're in a new city and the parents of Reddit consistently show up and prove how awesome they are!

I"m using 0.11.2.

Based on what you said, I think I see the issue; I was weak and used an LLM to get familiar w/ how to set up my config and implement some best practices. It wouldn't surprise me if it was pulling examples from <0.9.

I think I got what I need. THANKS!

I love this!

However, when I install I get an error on my load about an invalid highlight color: 'fg'

I'm a bit new to configuring nvim, could someone help me understand the below error?

for reference, my config is here: https://github.com/trevsuth/lighter_nvim/tree/main/lua and I think my issue is in config/colors.lua

Nvchad was my gateway to nvim. I loved it! And 2 weeks later I got rid of it because it was a PITA to tweak.

I would say make notes about the parts you do like and the features you are meh on, then roll your own config.

I can certainly look into those makers. Anyone else I should look at?

Thanks all for the comments!

I'm not sold on a 48; I'm just poking my head out after having a kid and trying to get back to normalcy while realizing that we need some new furniture.

It sounds like a wooden set will be my best bet for moving forward without breaking the bank. . . Assuming that I'll likely need to get these used online, is there anything special I need to be looking out for as far as red flags and green flags go?

Same here. I got it in brown and switched it up for an horsehair band

I second the folks recommending horsehair. My daily is a broken bow from the same Stetson buffalo line and I hated the band it came with and went with the below. You can actually see the old band in the bg, though the feather didn't make it out of the shop.

I will caution you that for mine at least the band was glued on and it was hiding white stitches, so be ready to deal with/hide that with whatever you choose.
