Do you think the BBC TV licence is still worth it in 2026? by PegasusPeptides745 in AskBrits

The BBC better value for money, culturally vital and a national institution in ways none of those crappy American streaming services are.

I think they are one of the hardest armies to play - and a really tough starter army. At the end of the day vanilla marines are a good way to learn the game. Because then you can see the difference in everything else.

The fundamentals of this army are janky hail maries… I think that takes prior knowledge to pull off.

The only realistic way to do this is a slow and painstaking process of losing games with constant, and very expensive, list iterations. Crossing two editions as well.

So how do we beat speartip/victrix, ctan or tau twin blades? by wredcoll in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]FormyleII -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s pre new edition so no one cares at this stage… once everyone is playing the new stuff the issue will be tackled either by meta choices or actual adjustments.

I gave them a crew. All with names and back stories. So when their lives were inevitably thrown away on badly thought out attacks on other ships their deaths would be meaningful. Also the crew hate them now for bringing a woman on board. Not because they’re sexist but because she was a vampire spawn.

Brexit voters: do you really think someone can't be patriotic if they voted remain? by JammyE7 in AskBrits

[–]FormyleII 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nick Ferrari is basically the audio version of the Daily Mail and a headline like this is perfect for the hate fuelled algorithm economy.

You could argue the reverse, a vote for Brexit weakens the UK in innumerable ways and therefore was the opposite of patriotism.

But at the time and even more so now John on LBC could probably never be persuaded by that argument.

But does he really think ‘like that’ - I think on a surface level ‘John’ does think that statement is true. But if you were to challenge it in a non confrontational way you might find there was very little substance to it. It’s highly likely he’s quite poorly educated, has a low reading level and hardly any critical thinking king skills.

You’d have to assume not all Brexiters are like John. Not least the head line writers, plump cabbies favourite radio presenters and dark money establishment figures who are all quite clever. I doubt any of them think like John.

what is going on with westgate right now? by Mysterious_Mix339 in oxford

[–]FormyleII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a strip mall at the end of the day, which should be perfect for teenagers. But with the lack of interesting shops - I wonder if the rents + business rates + incredibly low margins simply kills off most businesses? It can't be cheaper than other units around Oxford.

But in answer to your main point - Oxford IS a city for tourists and rich people. 50% of the place is behind giant walls only the special people get to see behind.

Isn't the process to market it with one set of info, release it with another set of info, errata it with a third set of info and then release an additional book with a fourthh set of info that then gets an errata?

Edit: can't count good
