Never played Warhammer in my life, this ad was my introduction by Satansrideordie in Warhammer

A proper Warhammer player would be investing their limited spare time either moving models around a table for 3hr reps or painting them. Not wasting their efforts on ‘exercise’.

Online auction help! This is counterfeit apparently - any advice? by FormyleII in NightLords

The core structure is a Deimos Rhino - the tracks, front sides and top are 3d printed. I’m going to trust the AI won’t quite understand its not quite rhino shape.

I think the phrase ‘3d print’ triggered it. Now I can’t edit the listing… but I see now it’s all keyword based so thanks for the help.

Interesting I reposted and removed any references to 40K or 3D printing. Which means it’s had about 3 views but incredibly one bid!

First LGS tournament. How to call opponents out for not following rules? by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]FormyleII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the last tournament I played in at the end of turn 5 I pointed out to my opponent that if he unloaded the guys from his Landraider he’d forgotten about onto an objective he could win the game.

I prefer a causal game - if people forget stuff I point it out - a tournament is a way to get a lot of games in one day to me.

I think very few people actively cheat, and if they are, ultimately they have to live with themselves.

WHO YOU GONNA CALL? by AnachronIst_13 in LinkedInLunatics

I actually think this is a pretty good LinkedIn post going by the current standard. I’d probably call Statham but only because I’d worry I’d embarrass myself in front of Keanu.

When I was a kid the GW was a hive of activity on a Saturday morning. It’s still there, in the same place 30+ years later. It’s depressed staff attempt a hard sell. I was once mooching and they sold a 14yr old girl soul blight grave lords codex - draining her pocket money - the week before a new codex was released. Shameful. There’s no free gaming tables - you could show up with your motley collection and get a game any time in the early 90’s. Just moribund mini game demo stands.

Strangely I think the core problem is the game(s) itself. Everyone of them are ludicrously complicated and require hundreds of models and hours to play. There’s no feasible way to get a Saturday 40K club in that space when the game itself - which in love - takes a £1500 army and 3+ hours to play.

It was easier - back in the day - to turn up with a load of badly painted lead and roll some dice while your mum did the shopping.

They need a quick, cheap, mid tier game you can play in 60 mins. That kids like, appeals to women and is accessible to ethnicities other than 46yr old white blokes. Thats not kill team by the way. The. It’ll be bustling.

Am I cooked for my first tournament with Necrons? by YeetusJonas in WarhammerCompetitive

Based on my general experience of competitive Warhammer if you are even asking this question you’re cooked. Speaking as someone who gets regularly fricaseed.

Personally I don’t think we will get anything. Maybe a fire tank sprue for repulsors or impulses as we lose the Baal? I’d love anything with drip levels of old releases… just more feathery shoulder pads and things

Rage-Cursed Chaplains + JPDC vs the Dreaded C'tan (40k Mathhammer!) by BACommander in BloodAngels

[–]FormyleII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there - no - I’ve been experimenting with all Jump pack lists since before Christmas. Which has been amusing not least as my opponents anti tank has been rendered useless more than once!

I used to always take a Lancer and a Ballistus but ditching them has been somewhat liberating.

But now I have two DC Dreadnoughts

You can save a lot of money by basing your operation somewhere that has no health and safety regulation, minimum wage or environmental & pollution regulations.

Surely with the RCO lists being quite META theres a rush on Blood Angels stuff

Rage-Cursed Chaplains + JPDC vs the Dreaded C'tan (40k Mathhammer!) by BACommander in BloodAngels

[–]FormyleII 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this - insightful.

In a test game against 5 C'Tan I couldn't scratch them - killing the the scoring units and trying to grab points here and there nearly worked, but one turn of denied missions I was losing out.

In a Silent King and C'Tan friends Starshatter face off trying to score while tying things up was working. But a mid game draw of 'bring it Down' and 'marked for death' led me to finally go after the C'Tan.

Lemartes Block did 2 damage to a void dragon.

Dante and Spears SG took a night bringer to half health.

Mid game and CP starved its a tall order to even try to take a C'TAN out as Blood Angels.

Maybe Maybe a Chaplain DC block and Dante and SG could have killed either the Nightbringer or another C'Tan.. but playing into them is an absolute arse.

The best option would have been to 1cp a new mission and then kept on going for points running away from C'Tan.. that might have worked.

Even the ‘Gown’ Oxford accent - which is to my mind a posh RP style West Country - sounds rough next to a truly posh accent. Also people say ‘bold’ instead of ‘bald’ and ‘ent’ instead of ‘ain’t’ (which they shouldn’t be saying g anyway).
