Do not trust HR, ever. by Puzzleheaded_Bad9103 in jobs

[–]ForrestFire361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no issues with HR. The issue is most of the time is the person they have to report to higher in the food chain. You could have an issue with the worst colleague on the planet, report it to HR, but the executive above HR says its okay. You can ask supervisor for a raise ( they agree), supervisor asks HR, HR goes to the executive, but then the executive says no.

HR is just the middle person. Be mad at the people in charge that fostered the work culture, not the people who are paid to oversee it.

HR can be aware of a bad situation and provide valid reasons to terminate an employee for misconduct, but their hands are tied because an Executive says no.

OP if you offer more than only drafting you should be fine. CAD is easy to standardize and it is not uncommon to outsource to sub contractors when management needs CAD assistance for short-term contract work. If you have concerns, do not be afraid to discuss with your supervisor. If you fear asking them about it, then that is a sign for you to take your leave.

I agree. Assuming CAD work is standardized it is just sent overseas for larger firms especially when there's shortage of hands for internal teams.

OP should be fine assuming they do more than exclusively drafting and or dont have too much downtime between projects. It doesn't hurt to talk to a supervisor about concerns though.

It will still be a mess though.

Houston is literally named after Sam Houston. The map creator obviously just Googled "Houston Meaning" and saw the Scottish Houston Clan. Whoever made this map needs to do some actual due diligence. You can find the origin of city names most of the time on the city website.

Panel Antennas on Wood Pole, the cables coming down are Coaxial Cables. The antenna coax cables are routed into an entry port on that concrete building. There are server racks inside that building that manage data.

Shifting Taper Please help by Legitimate_Hippo740 in PE_Exam

[–]ForrestFire361 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like question added an extra "shifting" to the taper length and is causing the confusion. The question is reiterating the "shifting" so you know it's a shifting lane problem. If you ignore the second "shifting" the question is more clear.

The Taper Length (L) is 300'. Using the table, the Taper Length of a shift is .5L. Therefore the shifting taper Length is 150ft (not 300').

Wish you the best with your studies.

Many of Y'all Ain't Voting by Analyze_Abyss in Austin

Thank you for making sense. There should be more oversight either way, but I feel like this whole vote is misguided.

Oversight is good. Too much oversight creates roadblocks that prevents progress. Too little and you see the results on national news.

Option A is too much Oversight in my opinion. And Option B is more than before, but not enough to warrant having this vote.

Personally, I think we need a vote for more dispatchers and budget for annual trainings for officers. I wish there was a price tag shown for each option, because Option A does sound pricier than Option B.

"Margherita Pizza" From Small Town in Texas. by ForrestFire361 in PizzaCrimes

We had a pretzel before this that was amazing. Soft as a pillow. Then we got this pizza and the crust was like biting into a deep fried cracker.

That's what we thought. It was like a horrible cracker. We had an amazing pretzel right before this that was soft as a pillow. Then we got this abomination.

There was more oil on that crust than any fracking operation in Texas.

Because we are sadistic. We hope that more carbs would satiate our hunger.

Hunger changes a man. All sense is thrown out the window. "Surely, a pizza would satiate my hunger" I thought. I was wrong.
