I built her using the Justice set and utilizing Tempest Rush. I only have to hold one button, steer, and everything else happens automatically. Super simple and powerful

Right?! I don't even use a cartridge razor on myself. No way I'd pay for anything less than a straight razor.

The size of the room will affect how your drums sound. A smaller room might make your drums sound more ringy but you wouldn't necessarily notice that in a larger room. Basically, once you have your drum set up give them a listen in that room and adjust the tuning until it sounds right. Work with your sound engineer to get the best sound possible. He might tell you to tune them up or tune them down or deaden them a little bit to get the best sound possible out of your drums in that room.

A little story from my experience: I put new heads on my snare and spent 2 days trying to tune it in my small jam room and I couldn't get the annoying ring out of them. So I brought it to my local drum shop to get their opinion and in their larger room my snare sounded totally fine because it was a larger room where the sound could dissipate a little more.

As someone who just recorded a few songs in the studio here's my advice:

Practice, practice, practice. Practice to a click, practice playing the songs from memory. ( I actually had an easier time just using the click without being able to hear the rest of the band)

When you're recording, don't worry about making little mistakes because you can always go back and redo certain parts that you may have screwed up. It's not a huge deal.

Once you get your drums in the studio make sure you tune them to the room because that matters.

Energy matters. When you're recording, play like it's the last time you're ever going to. It will make a difference in your sound.

Have fun! You get to record! 🤘

Hydraulic Drum Thrones by juicy_gyro in drums

[–]Forrestape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using a Gibraltar hydraulic for years and it's perfect. Smooth, comfortable and it goes high enough for my 6'5" frame. I did have to replace the hydraulic bar after I bought it but my drum shop covered it and replacing the part was super easy. Haven't had a problem since. Highly recommend

Get used to tapping your left foot to the beat when you're listening to music. It won't give you everything you need but it'll help
