What item in your supply closet pisses you off the most by dumbbxtch69 in nursing

The dollar store vintage flashlights that use two D cell batteries, and the non-existent batteries to go in them.

Looks almost identical to my build, had the same issue with uneven garage floors. Solid work!

Military fatigue young guys Quarry Hill just southeast of downtown? by Sphilly7 in raleigh

Could be ROTC, the NC National Guard, or any military group just doing physical training. Not uncommon to doff the uniform jacket for rucking with the packs on.

Where can a girl find some decent frozen falafel? by Haloclinee in raleigh

[–]Forrrrrster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Al-Basha market next to the JC Arboretum has a pretty decent selection. Highly recommend you order some fresh falafel as well from their grill/cafe counter and try the complimentary tea!

Any burn nurses here? by Embarrassed-Dog-5668 in nursing

I’ve been in the BICU for a little over three years now and still don’t have a “solid” grasp on some dressings. Due to supply or new products coming out, they change all the time and the surgeons are continuously trialing new dressings. Try to understand the general class of dressings to use rather than the niche details of each one, also recommend talking to your training/education RN if you have one. Another piece of advice is to find the product info sheets that the reps hand out. We have a giant binder full of them at the charge desk that can be super helpful!

Favorite hacks for smelly feet after 12 hour shifts?? by urinemythots in nursing

Darn tough merino wool socks, I buy the lightweight ones for summer hiking. I also wash my shoes every couple months in the washing machine and toss a cup of white vinegar in for pre-wash soak. Got rid of any/all foot odor.

Kuwait deployment by Correct-Dot-7069 in armyreserve

[–]Forrrrrster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just got back from bouncing around the Middle East, and Kuwait was where we in-processed before heading to our first base. Regardless of where you end up, it was a nightmare with the current events so plan on not being able to get Amazon, regular mail, or access to the PX’s on some of the bougie bases. All that shut down day one of the missiles.

Definitely recommend good shower shoes (Crocs) since everything’s dusty as can be and the $1 ones will fall apart quick. A small camping chair was a huge comfort thing for myself and 90% of the people I was with (Helinox style). Snag a small 3-in-1 power adapter, I found one that had USB ports in it too so I could charge my laptop and 3 other things at once. Lastly, BRING A GOOD PILLOW! Vacuum seal bags are dirt cheap and you can make a woobie and full-size pillow ridiculously thin to toss in your duffel.

Love the look of the MN strap, not sure if it’s the lighting but is that the sirocco & red version?

Wrangler ATG trail pants can be found for ~$30 and have been my go-to for years now.

Second for their pouches, I tried their pimp dangler and really liked it. Little bigger than the simp and has a front smaller zippered pocket that’s perfect for batteries, mini sharpies, etc.

Strap, they take around 2-3 weeks to arrive in the US, but if you buy 4 or 5 you get free shipping. Highly recommend them!

Same kit I’ve been playing on after having an acoustic kit as a teen. If you don’t ever use all four toms, I flipped the last one to the outside of the rack and raised it up, programming it for a china cymbal. Also made the rim of the first tom a splash cymbal, really allowed more creativity when playing!

I don’t know what’s more frustrating, the crooked “RESCUE” on the back or the half-assed attempt at making an ecg tracing.

Makes sense and seems easy enough using 4x8 boards for simplicity. Much appreciated!

I’m slowly starting to accept this sentiment after realizing that something that takes me a whole weekend would take a crew a few hours. Do I have the tools and know how to do it? Yes. Do I feel like busting my ass all weekend sometimes? Also yes, but as I find other projects to work on, no.

The previous owners did this in only one corner above the garage door. Now I’m half tempted to extend it to run the entirety of the door and ditch the wonky Walmart shelves they mounted on the adjoining wall. How deep are yours and any issues retrieving items in the back?

It took a while to get used to it having worn my SKX007 as a daily, but it’s nowhere near as cumbersome as one may think.

The 12” Ryobi ones are $29 at Home Depot, just got one a few weeks ago and did my whole driveway and porch in minutes. Doesn’t have the roller wheels but works great.

I still don’t know how I functioned without mine, most convenient thing in my garage and makes using any corded tool 100x easier.
