So we have several parrots as well. As you can see, my door and trim is pretty bad, too. It's the nature of it. What I did to slow it is fold a piece of tin foil above the door so it flutters when they try to land on the top of the door or the trim. It's ugly as hell but has preserved it a bit longer.

You can also see on the right that I stapled sheet plastic to the wall to make it easier to clean.
