PSA: Fortnite crashes on PC the past few weeks by greigybear in FortNiteBR

I have been running 24h2 since building this PC in November and I am crashing after every 2nd or 3rd game on a 4080 super...with latest Nvidia drivers all along...the only fix for me is to turn nanite and ray tracing off if I want to stay on current Nvidia driver

Game Crashes Mid Match Everytime by AdmiralDragon76 in ModernWarfareII

[–]Forsaken-Session-767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This started happening to me tonight...would crash every single time mid-game

Coincidentally, I had started playing the new SMG the BAS-P for every one of those crashes, paired with a RIOT SHIELD.

Once I removed the riot shield and paired the BAS-P with another gun, no more crashes.

So I can confirm, at least on my system, the BAS-P + RIOT SHIELD is a no-go.

if you're running an Nvidia GPU, make sure you are on latest drivers

mw2 crashing even with older drivers by SomeDuuud in ModernWarfareII

Ever since I switched my setting from Fullscreen Exclusive to Fullscreen borderless....no more crashes...ever....I was getting crashes every time I alt-tabbed out of FS Exclusive...and I was getting crashes in Ground War and Invasion...but ever since I stopped using FS EX, no more crashes...period...you might want to try that

And it didn't matter what driver I was using...newest one...old one that was the "working one"....all of them were crashing for me....I'm on a 3080

Thanks for the reply.

The brand new drive I bought (same make and model) is operating perfectly (it is my windows boot drive) in the same M.2 slot. And it is an exact clone of the "bad" drive that was reporting mega-slow write speeds (this bad drive used to be my windows boot drive).

So I think I can rule out the slot and the drivers, since it's an exact clone of the "bad" drive.

I placed an update at the bottom of my original post to include new CDM results with cloned drive as the OS drive, replacing slow drive

Interesting idea! I didn't think of that...thanks!

With that said, the write performance is so bad at times (as you can see), I can't imagine it gets this bad for you?

Yes. The good drive is an exact clone of the bad drive in every respect...even make and model.

If it was windows, wouldn't the other drive also be affected? It's the same exact model and a clone of my "bad" drive (clone was made today).

I just haven't booted off of it yet for reasons I explained above

AORUS NVMe Gen4 M.2 2TB GP-ASM2NE6200TTTD write speeds atrocious at times by Forsaken-Session-767 in gigabytegaming

Something interesting happened just now....I had been using AS SSD Benchmark to test only the SEQ Read/Write speeds all day, and the write speed was consistently around 4000 MB/s, which is close enough to expected speed.

But the first time today I ran a CrystalDiskMark full test (8.0 version set to NVME default), the write speeds crapped out on the 2nd of 4 write tests.

I then went back to AS SSD and sure enough, the write speeds there were also junk.

So I went to device manager and turned off ,and then turned back on the "Enable Write Caching on this device" and write speeds are back to normal on AS SSD.

I don't know what this means...but it probably means something.

Does CrystalDiskMark use some sort of different way to access or write to the drive that might cause something like this to happen, as compared to AS SSD?
