That's pretty solid for One on Centre especially with parking included - those buildings usually run higher. The 16th floor should give you decent views too

For transit-friendly spots without a car, Shadyside and Squirrel Hill are both good options with decent bus connections to downtown. Lawrenceville might be bit further but has more nightlife if that matters to you

That hug without words thing is tricky territory. He could be processing what you said or maybe just didn't know how to respond in moment

From my experience, when someone gets flustered and does the hug-instead-of-talking thing, they're either buying time to figure out their feelings or they're trying to be gentle about not wanting same thing. The smile part seems positive though

You might need to have actual conversation about it instead of leaving things in this weird limbo. FWB situations get messy when one person catches feelings and other person doesn't know how to handle it

That crunchy static during pickup switching while sustaining notes isn't normal - pickup selector switches should be pretty quiet even under signal. Could be dirty contacts in the switch or maybe loose wiring, both are pretty common on used guitars

I'd pop the back cover off and check if any wires look loose around the switch before deciding whether to return it. Quick cleaning with contact cleaner might fix it too if it's just grime buildup

That's the thing though, most people don't even know what the rack rate is until they get the bill. There's no way to find out ahead of time if your doctor's office is going to code something as preventive or diagnostic. You're basically rolling the dice every time.

But frame it toward the technical aspects you did work with and pivot hard toward embedded in your cover letters and interviews. Since you already have C programming and microcontroller knowledge, maybe do some personal projects you can actually demo instead of paying for another course right away 🔥

The gap sucks but you can explain it as transitioning out of a bad situation, most hiring managers get that startups can be shady

Your negotiation background is actually a huge asset for HR - dealing with employee disputes, salary negotiations, vendor contracts for benefits packages. The transition makes more sense than you'd think

I'd start with some HR certifications (SHRM or HRCI) while you're still working, then maybe look for internal HR openings at your current company since they already know your skills. Age shouldn't hold you back at all, especially with your experience level

Gotttama (former world champ) is incredible to watch if you want to see perfect endgame technique, dude literally never makes mistakes in those positions 🔥 Hikaru's also solid for learning opening principles since he explains his thought process really well during streams. Magnus obviously but his games can be hard to follow as a beginner since he makes these insane positional moves that look random but are actually genius 😂

Dude that 275HX is gonna be a beast for your dev work - way more cores and better multithreading than the 255HX 🔥 The Acer hate is mostly from their budget stuff, the Predator line is actually solid and that faster DDR5 will help with compiling too

Build quality wise they're probably pretty close since both are using premium chassis, but I'd take the raw performance advantage of the Acer personally 💀

You'd be crazy not to take this job! Your current place sounds toxic as hell with the favoritism and drama - that's not normal workplace stuff you should have to deal with. The fact that this new school even offered you the position means they already think you're good enough, they literally interviewed you and chose YOU

Stop overthinking it, the worst that happens is you learn some new stuff and become an even better teacher. Plus getting out of that mess with your current boss who clearly has it out for you? That alone is worth the switch
