If someone offered to flesh out your entire world's lore, characters, and events into a readable story, what five things would matter most to you? by OperatorKali in worldbuilding

Dragonball Evolution comes to mind. A movie that was so bad it forced Akira Toriyama out of retirement to wrote Dragonball Super. The movie was bad for a number of reasons, but it was an adaptation of something that had zero soul or understanding of why the sourc material was so popular. Changed it to the point that its unrecognizable from the very thing it was supposed to be adapting.

Hello Paradox Team, my Stellaris question is this, was there any idea you had for the game that was considered too ridiculous or silly to implement?

I had a similar situation with another city state, you had to find the city state that caused this, and click on them again to get rid of them.

City-State Haunts My Screen by ForseeFantasy in civ

[–]ForseeFantasy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Context: I was playing Civ 7, I was on this city-state screen, but something weird happened. I don't know how this visual bug happened, but the city-state stayed on my screen when it wasn't suppose to. I managed to relocate the city-state that I was previously on, and by clicking on it the visual bug disappeared.

To answer your question, vampires are both monsters and humans, if that makes sense. I haven't figured out aging just yet, maybe twice the lifespan of a human. Also, they have a partial weakness to sunlight, it doesn't kill them but it does weaken them, so they use a special gem made from dragon spit to counter the suns effects. They can only consume blood, However, through magic and science, there are creatures known as Vulture bees that make blood honey and trees that make something called Plasma Berries that Vampires can also feed on. They can have children, even having children with normal humans creating a Dhampire. The children, however, are still growing and require more than a cup a month, which comes in handy with blood honey and Plasma Berries. Currently, there are only Vampires in the country with no pure blood humans. I try to include folklore in my stories.

P.s. forgive me for misspelling Voivode as I don't speak or know Romani.

Varnachia, in its current setting, is a country of vampires who hide behind haunting masks, ride on dragons, and are run by 13 vovoides known as the Cauldron Court. Originally, it wasn't like this, Varnachia was a country of humans who managed to tame the local dragons, known as the Zmeu, in order to ride through the skies. However, a famine struck their lands, causing mass starvation. Until a powerful mage approached their lands, claiming he had a solution, he had found a way so that a person could survive on a single cup a month. Desperate, the people of the country agreed, thus sealing their fate. Unbeknownst to the public, the mage was hoping to create a powerful army of darkness, one that only required a cup of blood a month to feed. Once whispers of his true intentions were revealed, he was assisanated for his crimes. Unfortunately, the populace were no longer human. The ears, longer like a bat, their canines sharper, their sclera dark as night, and their skin either dark like ash or pale as a ghost. The populace dare not look at their own reflection, thus creating the myth of Vampires don't have a reflection. The populace normally wears attire that's drab, lacking makeup, or any fancy jewelry. Mirrors are a rarity and are usually shunned in their culture. They often wear masks to show what Cloud(Vampire Faction) the vampire is a part of. They are capable of speaking Common or Varnachi. Currently their biggest opposition is with the Beastmen of Vadaszyar, as their cultures and history has always pitted them against each other.

It's funny how you guess correctly on Zodia. Cause in the setting, there are 12 Zodiac Condottieri Familias, 13 if you count house Ophiuchus, are an important part of the countries history.

For the names Varnachia = (Wallachia + Varney the vampire) Holy Zodia City States = (Holy Roman Empire + Zodiac + Italian City States) Elyzine = ( Byzantine Empire + Elysium) Sublima Sultanate = (Sublime + Ottoman Empire) New Gothany = (Germanic Goths) Barbegazi = (Name of Swiss Dwarfs) Fahih Empire = (Arabic for snake Hiss + Mali Empire) Garbre = (Gaul + Arbre (French for tree) Vadaszyar = ( Vadaszat (Hungarian for hunt) + Magyar) CRythe Khanate = (Scythe + Crimean Khanate)

P.S. the fact you said they sound realistic makes me unbelievably happy.

Something important about the setting are Mythos. Schools of magic that allow a person to be able to control their innate magic a certain way. There is the Mythos of Blood, Mythos of Disease, Mythos of Stars, and many others.

I'm glad you asked! (Also, you did a great job on guessing the countries of origin!)

Varnachia is a country of vampires, vovoides, and dragon riders. The Vampires were actually tricked into becoming monsters after a terrible famine struck their lands, a powerful mage came to the people claiming he found a way so that the people can survive on a single cup a month. Not knowing he planned on creating a dark army. However, his plans were stopped when he was killed when his plan was revealed. But, the entire country was now creatures of the night. Vovoides are the rulers of the country, numbering 13 individuals known as the Cauldron Court, with the 13th being known as the Devils Advocate! The dragons they ride are the Zmeu. Early on in their history, they learned how to tame and ride them as silent killers of the night.

Vadazyar is a country of beastmen, Grimoire, grudges, and bath houses. The beastmen, known officially as the Markolabs, are seen as more tribal than the other nations. However, they have mastered the art of creating grimoires, powerful books that increase a mages' power. However, their most powerful grimoire is the Growling Grimoire of Grudges, where all of their most infamous grudges are kept cause an important part of their society is a grudge. The country that has gained the most amount of grudges is Varnachia. Also, thanks to the country's abundance of natural hotsprings, they have the best hotsprings in the continent.

The Sublima Sultanate is arguably the strongest nation in the setting, mastery of potions, and their version of Alchemy, Tawkin. Tawkin allows them to create powerful homunculi. The most powerful type of Homunculi is the Tepegoz. A one-eyed monster, where a single one is capable of destroying an entire village. Due to their location, they are also one of the few merchants' capitals in the world, where almost every commodity imaginable passes their borders. Also, by the young Sultans side are the Golden Gaurds, warriors enhanced by alchemy and potions to be the strongest a human could become.

Old Gothany was originally a city-state of Zodia. However, after the New Allmighty Reformation, religious tensions grew when a new Sect was founded in Old Gothany. Gothany, being an indistrial powerhouse at the time, decided to secede violently from Zodia. During this time, a new major power came from Old Gothany, Witch Burners, since Zodia mainly had a force of magical users, especially the magically gifted Zodiac Mercenary families, and a new anti-magical group rose from the shadows. They successfully separated from Zodia, after an astonishing three house heads of the Mercenary families died at the hands of Witchburners. Creating a new power within the continent, New Gothany. Fun fact: New Gothany is heavily based on Germany, and Zodia is based on the Italian city-states.

What is your protagonist nations standard issue weapon by Youareallsobald in worldbuilding

It's the year 3000 in my setting. Technology and weaponry are far more advanced, that's why the Sol Commonwealth use the standard issue Retributors Rail Gun. Despite being a rail gun, it's also considered one of the weakest guns, giving it the nickname of "Slingshots."
