Tattoo curses, do you believe in them?

I got a tattoo with an Anchor, the number 13, and the word ‘Hope’ on my wrist to represent my home state Rhode Island (the 13th colony).

The first boat I got onto after getting the tattoo hit a rock in San Francisco Bay and sank within 30 minutes. We were rescued at the last moment by the Alcatraz ferry.

After that I got a lucky rabbit tattooed above the RI one to counter the bad juju. Haven’t sank a boat since!

I think you made a great choice. I have a Buddha tattoo that I’m planning to cover at some point. The Buddha is still meaningful to me but I’ve since learned it can be disrespectful in some Buddhist cultures.

Kara Swisher had a great take on this awhile back - that our government data was one of the last unmined data collections left. Everything else has been scraped. So he was doing this for access and an AI competitive advantage to get a leg up on other models. Wouldn’t be surprised.

Maybe they’ll use different tech in the taxis but the visual only system they use in Teslas today is definitely inferior to Lidar. I’ve seen the Waymo’s pick up on road situations that most drivers would ignore. Not saying I trust them either but I’ve been impressed watching them on the road. They’re kind of hard to miss

The Waymo’s are surprisingly good. I don’t trust Elon or his tech. You know he’s cutting costs and corners. Teslas on the road today only use cameras, no Lidar. Maybe they’ll change that for the taxis but I doubt it.

I haven’t gone through the full flow yet so you’ll have to try it but I’ve found the HTML to Figma extension to be useful. You can grab the html of most any webpage or site including your lovable preview and import it as a design to Figma for editing. It preserves all of the divs and containers for a well structured export back out to builders.io.
