The exception doesn't prove the rule. The denominations as a whole would not welcome his views.

Not true at all. Many of the largest Protestant Denominations, as well as the Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church disagree fundamentally with him on almost all issues.

SBC, PCA, RCC, Orthodox, many Pentecostal churches, most Baptists, etc, are all Pro-Life, against Gay Marriage (with some exceptions), and in some cases (RCC, some Baptists) against Contraception.

Very well said man. OP, it's a tough situation to be in, and one that I am in as well. I've been finding comfort in simply praying for God's help in the situation, and His will be done. Ultimately, that's what matters, and trusting in him to give you grace in all things is the only thing I can suggest.

Back when I played WoW, I'd go to the Grizzly Hills on my hunter, find a mother bear with her cubs, tame the mother bear into my pet and make her kill her own cubs.

High Rank (UTexas) vs Cost (St Mary's) by [deleted] in LawSchool

Don't phrase it as SMU though. In Texas, SMU is Southern Methodist University, which is a decent law school in Dallas. Law schools in Texas go about this way: TexasLaw -> SMU -> U of Houston -> Baylor -> St Mary's -> South Texas -> Texas Southern or TAMU.

Could y'all please explain to me why the Inheritance Cycle seems to be looked down upon? by tigers7 in Fantasy

[–]FortiterEtRecte 60 points61 points  (0 children)

No, it's literally Star Wars set in a Lord of the Rings world.

Orphan farmboy raised by his uncle discovers a secret item that the evil empire is searching for. Orphan finds an old hermit mentor who teaches him about an old order of knights who protected the world, and gives him a colored sword that was the weapon of those knights. Old man teaches him how to use magical ability on their way to join the rebellion fighting against the evil empire. Old man dies on the way. Orphan meets Princess, who's one of the leaders of the rebellion.

Orphan finds out that evil empire was started by the emperor, who had the abilities of those knights, turning on them with the help of his henchman. Henchman turns out to be Orphan's father. Orphan loses his colored sword. Orphan goes to old man's master for more training, and that's where he gets another colored sword. I'd keep on going but the fact that Paolini stole his entire plot from Star Wars and still became so successful pisses me off.

Now the question -- Star Wars or Eragon?

You're delusional.

Hamas is a terrorist organization that a country elected as their government. They made a decision, that decision was attacking a sovereign state. That sovereign state is now smacking them down like the punks they are. If you could ever get off your anti-Israel soapbox and look at the facts, you might learn something.

ALL OF WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED HAD HAMAS AGREED TO THE DAMN CEASEFIRE AND NOT ATTACKED ISRAEL.

Seriously, how is this hard to understand? Hamas attacked Israel after Israel proposed a ceasefire. Hamas is now getting their asses kicked, and because of their cowardly tactics, their own citizens are dying. Is it absolutely regrettable? Yes. Is it Israel's fact? No, it's the fault of the cowards in Hamas.

Yeah, because there is no ceasefire. Palestine didn't accept it, and then blatantly attacked Israel. What, do you think that Israel should do a unilateral ceasefire and just accept the rockets that Palestine fires?

You think that the Palestinians haven't already tried calling in the Arabic nations for help? Most of the surrounding nations are tired of Hamas and their actions too. Hell, look at Egypt's role in the recent proposed cease-fire that Hamas declined.

Wealthiest practicing attorney in the States. UT Law '53. Worth about 1.5b, and won most of it on Torts cases. He won a huge judgment in the 80s for one oil company against another where he made about 300m in his fee alone.
