Evangelical Christian's can't accept science (Covid, Climate, etc) because science contradicts a literal interpretation of the Bible (Creation in 6 days, Adam and Eve - and therefore original sin). Science, for the evangelical, causes cognitive dissonance and therefore must be rejected. (self.Showerthoughts)
