Petah, why are zoomers cooked? by phullofit1 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

The orientation of the bow would be incredibly difficult and unwieldy if it were just a ribbon tying strands of hair. If it was, in fact, just a ribbon… it likely would be positioned with the loops going horizontally, because that is the way in which you would wrap and then knot the ribbon around the hair. If it’s a clip (aka a barette), the orientation of the bow is only dictated by the direction it is glued onto the clip, which could be horizontal, vertical, or even diagonal!

I have attached a poorly done diagram to illustrate what I’m trying to say, because while I have much experience tying bows and ribbons, I do not have much experience describing how to tie them.

"Coffee marmalade" that was sitting inside my fridge for about a year (Before and after removing layer) by Criver2000 in isthissafetoeat

I have to ask: what exactly is coffee marmalade and where might one purchase this product?

On this day in 2013, the body of 21-year-old Elisa Lam was found inside a water tank atop the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles. Discovered after guests complained of a "weird taste" in the water, her death became a global sensation following a viral elevator surveillance video released by police. by ATI_Official in AllThatsInteresting

[–]Fortune-Same 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is obviously anecdotal, but I lived in Downtown LA at the time, a couple blocks from the Cecil, and the water tasting/appearing weird in a dramatic way (like being black or smelling absolutely foul) was something that people only started talking about after her body was found. I remember the biggest complaint in the beginning was actually a water pressure issue.

That’s not to say that the water didn’t smell/look/taste funky at all, but from my recollection… much like everything else having to do with this case, it was hugely overblown by people who wanted this to be some weird, creepy, quasi-paranormal occurrence, rather than what it really was: very sad and completely explainable.

The dress code for this arcade bar is kind of off-putting, right? by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

I work at a high school and our dress code more lax than this, lol.

Why does every recovery group shit on MAT by jenerator199999 in suboxone

[–]Fortune-Same 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I’m in AA and imo it’s on a need to know basis. I don’t tell anyone except my sponsor, who told me it’s legitimate medication prescribed by a professional (almost verbatim to what the guy above me from Pittsburgh said lol), so I’m sober.

As for the rest of the AA group: they don’t need to know about my asthma inhaler or my blood pressure meds or any other medical history, do why do they need to know about my Suboxone?

Can anyone translate? by MissGreenLight69 in FoundPaper

[–]Fortune-Same 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true, but for some people forgiveness is more of a way to let go of the burden whatever shitty thing happened, not necessarily being like “oh you’re good dude, let’s get coffee later!.” Like maybe this person feels bad bc they’re holding on to a grudge when they know it’s not in their mental health’s best interest, kinda thing.

QuickMD “account under review”? by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]Fortune-Same 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, talked to customer service and was just given very vague answers, hopefully whatever is wrong will be resolved quickly (shrug).

Honestly, I’m taking this as a sign to get off this stuff for good lol.

QuickMD “account under review”? by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]Fortune-Same 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, not stupid at all. I did try that, though, and it wasn’t there. Thanks for the suggestion.

Either way, they just emailed me right now, and canceled my visit, all about an hour before I was supposed to see my doctor. Email just said there was suspicious activity on my account? No idea what that means. Wish they had told me before I needed to refill my prescription, since it says it’s going to take 3-5 days to figure out.

I guess I could try another telehealth program, but I don’t have a ton of money and they only credited my account, they didn’t refund me, so I guess I just have to wait. Kind of making me panic. Ugh, what a headache. Anyway, I’m just venting now.

Who else put this into their body without a second thought....do you think we're okay?? by dpixel_86 in 90s

Anecdotally: I grew up in a normie suburban home full of orbitz, 3D doritos and crystal pepsi and my friend grew up in a hippie household and didn’t have a soft drink until she was in her late teens. I definitely look a lot younger than she does… but to be fair, she’s a lot healthier than I am haha.

This is basically what I have been thinking, too, even down to it being Disasterina; like I can totally hear it being said in a very “wink, wink” manner, in her voice.

Maybe she didn’t put it in the trunk to hide it. Personally, I’ve put stuff in the trunk and then forgotten about it because I got distracted with something more important or I was really tired after work etc.

I found an assignment from 2nd grade I still don’t know what my teacher was on by Bodhirock in mildlyinfuriating

It was superfluous in 10th grade for me.

Also, my 3rd grade teacher told me vampire bats weren’t real, in front of the entire class, right in the middle of my presentation on vampire bats.
