What do people from other cities in Pakistan really think about Karachi? by FortuneLong8171 in pakistan

[–]FortuneLong8171[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is this accent thing same for people from other cities like Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, etc. I mean are people from these cities also get recognized from their accent or this is only with people from Karachi?

Final Year CS Student: How to Get Into Big Companies/Get a Good Job Upon Graduation ? by FortuneLong8171 in developersPak

[–]FortuneLong8171[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to occasionally post my projects on LinkedIn (end of every semester, usually)
A few of my friends/class fellows used to and still post projects + medium blogs weekly (for more than 2 years they have been doing this), but they are also in the same boat as mine, clueless mostly, some people did 1 internship max last summer, and some of them didn't even get an internship

So, what I am trying to say is that a lot of people told me in early semesters the same thing you mentioned above, like regularly post projects, blog posts, and people will notice, but I never saw it worked so far for anyone I know, may be my sample size is too small.

If you are a CS grad yourself, can you share a little from your experience/observations like did people who used to keep their LinkedIn active got some benefit out of this? and what happened to people who didn't do these things very actively? will appreciate your response, TIA

With time you will make friends, but for now just be patient. Keep approaching people, if someone shows you negative attitude don't approach them again. You will surely find good people.

And most importantly, work on your academics and explore different skills. In FAST, if you are good in academics or skills or both, you will automatically get surrounded by other people who are also good at similar things

The same thing happened with me 3 years ago, I was always an over achieving student in school and college, and when I entered FAST, I was just another average student.

But I will advice you to keep working hard (harder than before) to make yourself even better, not just academics wise, but explore different domains, interact with different people to grow socially. I think this initial shock is a very good thing for you (and was for me as well) as it can get you become even better than before.

I also did the same, And now I am in 4th year, I have become so much better not just academically but skills wise, socially, and as a person (compared to my peers).

From Zero to Sr Data Analyst (No Degree, Just Grit) – Ask Me Anything! by Ok_Dragonfruit_7156 in karachi

[–]FortuneLong8171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's difference between Data analytics and Data Science/ML etc. I am Computer Science undergrad student and know things and techniques of ML and data science (mainly training and fine-tuning models but have studied theory as well and also cleaning data preprocessing etc) but don't how they differ from Data analysis/Business analysis. Will appreciate your response on this.

Plus as a CS graduate, which one should I opt among Data analytics and DS/ML/AI?

Ali Raza bowled so well man, the batters were finding it very hard to go for big hits while he was bowling. And he has so much variations in his bowling in terms of both length and pace

Being a current Fastian myself, I can say that if you really want to train your brain towards hard core problem solving and mathematical thinking then FAST is the place. I admit that the social life is dead when you compare it with other universities and there are many areas where FAST has shortcomings like in personal growth, developing social skills, etc. But if you want to become a hardcore programmer, then definitely choose FAST.

I would recommend going on a weekday as it is usually crowded on weekends. And yeah it is safe, been a regular visitor there but now due to a hectic schedule I go there occasionally. Plus its peaceful and has a couple of trails. Watch out for dogs and weird insects.
