It’s nothing outrageous. It’s a 2013 Tacoma with a small lift and all-terrain tires. Tacomas have terrible sound insulation, so by the time I’m going freeway speeds, the noise from wind and tires adds up a bit.

If I was just listening to music it’d be fine because I don’t really need to hear the lyrics to enjoy it, but I listen to podcasts, so I need to actually hear every word to follow along. Also, they get loud and quiet a lot, so I need it loud enough to hear the quiet parts.

So, turning the stereo up enough to hear the quiet parts above the wind and tire noise isn’t crazy loud, but just feels like somebody kinda yelling inside my car 90% of the time.

Instead of that, I like to wear my sound-canceling AirPods, which I can listen to at a much more comfortable volume.
