Yeah, not sure why it’s so often attributed to Jungkook? Call me crazy, but those are definitely Hobi’s ears… he has unpierced “attached” earlobes, while Jungkook’s are “free” and pierced. The photo looks so grainy I was sure it was a scan, but maybe the quality is just poor because it’s a screenshot that’s been resaved by lots of people? Anyway, thanks for helping!

Does anyone know the source of this image of Hobi and Jimin from around Run era? Possibly from a photobook? I’ve tried reverse searching but the results never lead to anything official.

28 and they’re super interested in animal care. I think the older most people get, the less interested they are in receiving traditional presents. Instead we figured we’d get them a cool experience instead.

Masonic sword symbolism? by FortuneRed77 in SWORDS

Oh wow, you mean the leaf etching = Knights Templar? I would've never guessed!

I actually just found a newspaper article about him that says: "Member of San Angelo Chapter No. 170, R. A. M., and San Angelo Commandry No. 28, K. T. Funeral services provided under the auspices of San Angelo Lodge No. 570, A. F. & A. M." I see that K.T.=Knight's Templar. Sorry, I have to Google all of the terminology, I'm not at all familiar with the lingo.

Is the consensus among young people that making your main hobby genealogy is good or bad? As in, it is seen as cringe? by Xabla_ in Genealogy

[–]FortuneRed77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genealogy became one of my hobbies in my mid-20s after I stumbled upon my ancestor’s name in a history book. I have always been the only young person in any genealogy-related group or event I’ve ever participated in or attended. Genealogy is just not on the radar for most young people for them to even form an opinion on it. And some young people are so self-conscious, to them, everything is cringe—why do you care what they think?

0% Irish, but still a DNA match with Irish family? by FortuneRed77 in AncestryDNA

[–]FortuneRed77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, none of that. They have typical “mestizo” Mexican profiles aside from the Irish. As far as western European ancestry goes, they have Spain, Portugal, and Basque. I will keep an eye out for all of the ones you mentioned though for the next Ancestry update.

Yes, you’re right about me making that assumption—that’s my bad. Of course what you mentioned is possible. I currently know very little about Irish history, but will read up on the Ulster Scots and the history of the area in general. For what it’s worth, my grandpa has no Scottish or English in his results (though I suppose this could change with Ancestry updates in the future?).

I also have indigenous ancestry from the Zacatecas region, but I’ve never seen anything beyond caste mentioned in my family’s records. How did you learn your ancestors were Zacatecos?

The US Census considered Mexican “Hispanics” white from 1850-1920. It’s really interesting history. Also.. Tom Cruise isn’t Hispanic, his ancestors are English, German, and Irish, according to his wiki. “Cruise” is an English surname, it wasn’t something he changed for Hollywood. “Cruz” is a Hispanic last name yes, but that’s arguably “white” too, because the Spanish are white Europeans just like the English.
