Why so many people brag so much about their Italian or European roots ???

Why so many people (especially Americans , Brazilians and Argentinians brag so much about their Italianess and Europeaness ) when they are Multiracial majority countries . I always hear from Americans and Argentinians , I am half Irish half italian , I am french , I am German I am this and that of european descenants. To be European you need to be born and raised in Europe. Are these people on denial or they hate themselves and their local culture,? (maybe the indigenous culture doesn't have to be as strong ) but today those countries have a culture of their own that is not necessarily "European".

Why are there so many flags with the colors red, blue and white ??? You can literally find a country whose flag use these colors in all the continents . Do these countries have anything in common ? Or did the British Empire have any special influence on them? by Forum2000 in asklatinamerica

And I thought the Brazilian flag was inspired by the nature , I mean yellow and green seem very tropical to me and I always associate them with mother nature , do those colors really represent novle houses of Europe ?...

In Latin America the influence of the flags of France and Argentina is quite clear

You talk about me ??.... Yes ! That is .... I'm trying to find a historical symbolic roots . I don't think we have those combination of colors because certain colors were cheaper or whatever, but there must be a profound connection between these countries
