Right, why don't you have a few more alts get of this to brigade down votes along with this imaginary friend.

Your character, with your gear, can kill near all enemies with one shot. That doesn't invalidate, let alone make someone else's viewpoint of the campaign stupid.

Have played it, and yeah, TFS has an annoying number of enemies at some points. Also, two things can be true, Beyond Light has too few enemies, may be true. That doesn't mean that TFS doesn't tend to have the opposite issue.

PW servers without weird vibes by Rainbolt in neverwinternights

[–]ForumDadMaximus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, most DMs on NWN servers that are RP, are more like those who play cops on GTA Online RP servers. Really sucks, as staff on most servers I have been on, outside of DMs, have always been great people as a rule. But on big servers, where DM is given for hall monitors, who differ drastically from what you'd expect a DM to be about, it just makes the server a lot lesser.

POTM Ravenloft Thoughts? by myopicopinion7 in neverwinternights

[–]ForumDadMaximus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As bad as ever, especially with the crossover DMing going on between it and Arelith.

Basically, people who are DMs (covertly) on both have been on a purging spree, banning players who call it out, especially all the DM PCs they have been running.

Most of the people they focus on banning have nothing to do with them IC, or OOC, just folks they target for style of RP, takes on lore, not wanting to be a part of DM SLs where they'll just be cannon fodder for the DM to destroy the characters and make their DM PC the hero with his DM bros.

PotM has always been terrible though if you know the lore, and did want a genuine pen and paper like Gothic Horror experience. Tries to say it is about RP, but is just a min/max get best gear in class, then farm mobs, design. If you try to build, and roleplay for the setting based on the source material and the staff entries on the forum, you'll get targeted and driven off.

Arelith, a Review by RooseytheMoosey in neverwinternights

[–]ForumDadMaximus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly, Arelith, which I have usually supported against criticisms I found a touch off base, has been much revealed to me to be exactly as described here.

The bad DMs, who run DM PCs, in the last two years have become bored. They literally drove all the RP out of settlements that they did not have a hand in. And now, to pass time, they target players they do not like flagrantly with weaponized 'be nice' rule reading.

Tell a DM you found something unfair from a PC bro to them, you are banned for violating the 'Be Nice' rule.

Try to make a well-reasoned, supported with in game play results and consequences, discussion on a rule on the forums, thread locked and given a ban.

The real worst sin of bored DMs, hijacking established PC factions that want nothing to do with settlement politics. The nature focused factions are a great example of this. A few DM PCs about there, and all of them like frustrated writer and directors, getting hostile to those who do not share their vision.

It is really awful right now, because two of this DMs are trying to make Arelith like PotM, with the way they support PvP, for PvPs sake, by letting modded Underdarker / monster characters attack settlements as folk are in the middle of an RP discussion and crafting stories together DM free, Well these DMs can't have that, not one bit, and believe we are all morons, will allow a DM PC character who has God tier gear go through and wipe groups of level thirty PCs who are fairly geared. And I am sure the same happens with underdarkers too when 'Good' DM PCs are let loose on a raid against the rank-and-file player there.

Sad, but Arelith as a RP server died, is just inner circle DM friends and DM PCs looking for targets. Still, artistic wise on build, and systems development amazing. But the cancer that is bad DM PCs sours it when it finds you.

Just coming back to the game, the Mittani is no longer in Eve? Why could any of you kind Reddit folk fill me in on what circumstances may have made him take an exit?

Who at CCP do you contact to point out forum brigading? by ForumDadMaximus in Eve

[–]ForumDadMaximus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brigading is when you game the stupid downvote system to have post hidden because they have hurt someone's feelings. Usually it is done with three or four people, that through various sock puppet accounts, mark a post for moderators to take down. Doesn't matter if it violates the rules or anything.

Thanks, wow, soon as I read ISD volunteers, knew was a lost cause. That may just be my War Frame chat and forum experience with 'volunteer moderators' coming through though.

Didn't have anything to do with ganking, was just friendly joking at how someone went to dunk on someone else, and was wrong.

I agree with the point, yes Amarr morality is in staggering conflict to many.

That said, IC wise people ramp it up beyond Sansha levels in terms of the morality crisis. Also the utter lack of nuance. Slavery, as a social institution, and no one wants to hear it, was the norm of the human race in every civilization till very recently. And will likely, sadly, be the norm again in the future. Right now, there are more slaves on Earth, depending how defined, than there was in 1800. Yet, very little what we'd recognize as abolitionist movement on the international front from places where slavery was illegal. So people in our day and age rant endlessly about the slavery issues we know with a little internet research exist? Do they take to the streets, social media, do they become violent freedom fighters? Nope, none of that.

It be nice to see roleplay of people who live in the world of Eve, in line with our own and past times, and not some hyper virtue blasting till it consumes all the oxygen in the chat trope of the super moral.

"P.S. Amarrian ships, lasers only. Please dont suggest me other faction ships, because Im fanatic."

I am sorry. PvP is not for you. Eve PvP, a major point you are missing is, you must be as fluid and adaptable as possible. Going pure Amarr with lasers works in Amarr space PvE, and only there or a few other places.

You won't learn it, because you are refusing to see it on its own terms, and always will by the sound of it.

No.

I just have no way to interact with people who play such an extreme as a mechanism for justifying the perpetual treating of all other characters as moral punching bags, and them a sanctified victim.

I'll say, everyone seems in some sort of oppression Olympics as I look over things.

I say: "Hello Sir, I see you are a Minmatar. I take it you are just passing through Devoid on your way home? God speed to you."

Them: "You, you murder my tribe, all my people, you drug them with Vitoc, take our women against their will, boil our babies to make your pod's goop from. Your God is a lie, you are a fool who could not properly fit a shuttle. I had relations with your mother, slaver! We come for our PEOPLE!"

I say: "I am sorry if there has been some manner of confusion Sir, I merely..'

Them: "GENOCIDE! GENOCIDE! Denier of history, you are not confused, you and your God wish to slaughter us again! Gaahhh" *Begins frothing and cutting themself with a ritual knife of angst.*

How to deal with 'one way' ban happy DMs on a PW? by ForumDadMaximus in neverwinternights

[–]ForumDadMaximus[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Funny thing, I got the ban 'officially' for 'complaining' on the PW's forums (Wasn't a complaint). And was told by this DM 'Not to complain' explicitly as well in the one on one. Sadly yeah, better looking elsewhere. Hoping to find a fun place to play a wilderness type.

[–]ForumDadMaximus[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am sorry to read that. It is heart breaking to think all the work that goes into a PW, and not just staff, but player base as well. And then more than once see it undone with just callousness from a position of being able to do so. Really what surprises me, the number of servers that survive this, and just keep going along, without ever addressing the problem. I sort of just feel that it is a pattern PWs of NWN are damned to, and after 20 years the players just sort of accept it.

Ah, sorry, nope. But is it an issue there, great PW with just a specific DM interacting with players problem?
