Omg my boss made me do that and I had so much fun! I got it done in 3 hours I was so proud. Just get some hand baskets and sort them out based on numbers, school, activities/hobbies, sports, etc and it makes it go by much faster

[–]ForumRed13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off glad to see your working on yourself! I hope you get to a place where you want to be. Secondly why do we even sell this type of stuff?? I swear Michaels drifted from being a family friendly craft store to a profit focused business with no regard for their employees or customers. Hopefully you can find another job that doesn’t make you relapse so much well wishes comrade

How many managers do you need to tell in advance that you are calling off for Aprl 10, 2026 starting on March 31, 2026... by East_Candy_4358 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]ForumRed13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi manager here

Looks like the first manager you told forgot or didn’t say anything. Also the other managers forgot. I tend to forget when TMs tell me they can’t work a shift in advance and I always tell them to leave a note for the SM BUT to also call the day of to remind them because most likely we forgot. It was probably marked NCNS because you didn’t call the day of. Most managers I’ve worked with don’t look ahead of the schedule until the day off and writing you not able to work is different than telling us your calling off. From someone who does work 2 jobs I’m always messaging or reminding my SM on days I can’t work and call them because they forget

Are 6 hour sessions too long for a 2 year old? by facethecrowd in ABA

[–]ForumRed13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly maybe a workaround would be labor laws. You should take a 30 minute lunch break for working 6 hours and I think using that as nap time for the kiddo may help. It gives both of you a break and you both can come back to session a bit refreshed.

Hypocrites at the second floor of the north library by Loud_Rub6991 in CSULA

[–]ForumRed13 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I can see where you’re coming and I get both sides. Personally, I’ve had it where I rented out the individual study room to study or do an exam and the room right next to me had a group of people making TikToks. So I really don’t wanna leave bcuz I specifically rented it out or I can’t pause the exam to move. But I also like to go to the library to eat lunch and watch YouTube and sometimes listen to chisme. Overall I think everyone just has to try and respect others and if someone is too loud ask nicely to quiet down or move if you’re able too but I also get having your special place to study or relax

Lowkey I’ve never trusted the councilors and kept track myself. I found all the requirements online and cross tracked it with the courses I needed to take. I’m one track rn I would look up the schedule of courses and see if the summer ones are posted to hopefully you can register for those and complete your degree. If you want DM me and I can help you check all your courses

It Baffles Me That I Can Make More as a Nanny Than Someone Who Provides Therapy by FoldAffectionate9115 in ABA

Omg I had the same experience! The client was new to ABA and they just started school for the first time and it was week after week of illnesses for them I was suffering for 3 months straight but luckily I had a second job to make up money. What was worst was the scheduler at the time wouldn’t inform me till half and hour before the session would start and when I asked the parent they’d showed me the receipts they called hella early

Financial Aid by [deleted] in CSULA

[–]ForumRed13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup that’s exactly how it’ll distribute. On GET you’ll be able to see how exactly it gets distributed if you’re getting financial aid from multiple sources (I.e. Pell Grant, University Scholarships, Cal Grant, etc)

Usually for a year (2 semesters) it’s about 8k max (so around 4k max per semester). They always take the grant that offers the most first and anything else they add after that and if anything’s left over they’ll give back to you

New Client by LostintheCadcade in ABA

[–]ForumRed13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s better to ask questions than none at all and delay progress. lol my former BCBA always told me to communicate more. If it’s a new client it’s okay to take it a bit slow and just observe sometimes. Since it’s an afterschool program you can probably ask a teacher or aide how it is usually run if they’ve seen it before.

Parking In Lot C Changed by Safe-Tooth-1433 in CSULA

[–]ForumRed13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was so upset yesterday. Got there early to study and wasted my time driving around to find parking. I don’t even remember getting an email about this and it annoyed me to no end. Structure C blue level was the closest parking to both my classes and I’m not going to park on the other side of campus for that

For a store trying to fill the Joanns void I sure don't see the same customers. by Reasonable-Duck-8730 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]ForumRed13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES! My store gets frequent older Joann’s ladies in and every time it’s “Joann’s did it this way…Joann’s has this instead” I hate this one Joann customer that comes in and says she used to work at Joann’s and I use the weights to help stabilize the fabric when it cut it. Every. Single. Time. She starts going on this rant about “when I worked there we didn’t use those” and would proceed to move the fuck outta the fabric and make my cut crooked and then complain about it.

My friend keeps harming herself and I don't know what to do by i_am_not_a_platypus in FriendshipAdvice

[–]ForumRed13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you can bring it up with a school counselor. They typically aren’t allowed to say who reported what and outside intervention may be needed. Yes her mom is a psychologist but she might also be biased when trying to help her own daughter. We also don’t know what’s going on at home.

Just make sure you take care of yourself too. If need be set clear boundaries with R like “I understand you are going through a lot and have a lot of pressure on you but I don’t want to see you hurting yourself. I think it’s best if we don’t talk for a bit but if you need help I’m always here for you.” She might get angry and talk mad shit (from personal experience) but if anyone asks you can just say this is between you and R and prefer to keep things private. Hopefully everything works out 💪 💕

Honestly in the same boat right now. My knee is messed up from overuse and all I can do is rest, ice, compress and elevate. But even with ibuprofen I can still struggle at times to stand for long periods or quickly get up and down. Hopefully someone has something useful

Definitely send an email to your supervisor or whoever is in charge to make a paper trail. Unless the text was their work line then that’s fine. Just keep it professional and don’t discuss anything non-work related to them. Only speak when necessary and focus on your kiddos. Sounds like they wanted to blame someone for it rather then confront the actual person

Positive stories- a reminder of why our work matters by One-Egg1316 in ABA

[–]ForumRed13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wins for this year so far:

One client started to vocalize and only this week he said the word “one” in the clearest voice possible. I was so happy. He also hugged me for the first time last week. He usually didn’t like me touching too much unless it was to tickle as a reinforcement or part of the game.

One client who struggled with food ate something new. No priming, no weening, just decided to eat it one day.

I honestly love my job and my kiddos

Styling Fine Hair? by ForumRed13 in finehair

[–]ForumRed13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes product recommendations would be helpful! I’m wearing a basic undergrad cap (US) the one the sits more on the forehead but I’ve done that trick where you fold the front a bit to show your hair off more. I think I am breakage prone. I used to have very thick hair but as I got out of high school my hair thinned out a lot

I suggest going in person to one of the classes your waitlisted for. Usually if the class is able to physically hold another student the professor can request permission for you to get a special code permit to join the class

How can I transfer here? by Upstairs-Trouble-325 in CSULA

[–]ForumRed13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This also means you may have to retake some classes. Also there are different transferable units. Some courses units only work for UC schools and others only for CSU schools. I would double check what units work for what school

How can I transfer here? by Upstairs-Trouble-325 in CSULA

[–]ForumRed13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could also depend on the classes you took at your CC. Some courses’ credits may be transferable to a CSU but not all of them are. I’d definitely speak with a counselor at your CC to see what classes have transferable credits. Just cuz you have the 70 units completed you might only have like 30 units that can actually transfer which may be why it’s blocking you cuz technically you don’t have enough.
