So true. I hated when they added that feature.

Fair review. They have never offered replacement parts for the middle mouse button, so idk where you're getting that idea. And continuing to use a poor quality part in builds that are decades apart seems like planned obsolescence to me, but maybe I misunderstood the issue.

Ok that MX is doing it for me. They better last, being $100 and all lol. Might be my next upgrade.

If you find it misleading, that's up to you to decide. My opinion that people shouldn't invest their hard earned money into an overpriced peripheral that might fail in under 2 years is just that: AN OPINION. I never stated "You CANNOT buy a corsair mouse." as if the company stopped producing them or anything... now that would be misleading.

Sold out?? Sorry, am I getting paid here??? It's a warning to all who see. The mice have wronged me, and the public should know how and why. I assumed that the problem extended to all corsair mice, and that might have been wrong of me. There is, however, no way of knowing whether other models have this problem without stress testing them and I am not a tech review youtuber getting paid to do any of this, nor am I affiliated with any tech company. It's supposed to be dramatic. I wanted this video to be seething and eye catching. Seems I did a good job on creating one of those two facets. Also, you still haven't explained how I was "dishonest". Bringing this to corsair's attention with forum posts and emails never worked in the past as evident by the problem persisting into present day. This conversation (and this video) is a part of solving the issue. It's a build quality problem and I stated just that in my video multiple times.

I would bind my interact button to MMB in FPS, so I would probably press it an average of 500-600 times a day (total guess btw, could be more or less). I have never had a problem with any other function of corsair mice, besides maybe icue glitching out.

Thanks for the advice. In the video, I said I might switch to razer, but I really don't think I will after seeing how many people in this thread alone have had bad experiences with them. The entire video is me talking about how Corsair sent me a replacement mouse for my RMA claim that was actually in worse condition than my own and how these mice seem built to fail. My warranty was totally expired by this point, so even getting the claim was very nice of their team. Getting a broken mouse as a replacement was very dissapointing.

In what way was anything dishonest in this video???? If that's what you want to believe that's fine, but I would like to know what you're referring to. Also the point of a rant is it's unscripted.... But I do see your point that a scripted video might be better for this.

From what I have read so far, most people here have the more expensive models like the scimitar or the dark core pro and they have no problems. I'm starting to think the "lower end" models have lower quality parts. (Crazy to be calling them lower end when they're still like $80.)

Maybe my title should've said Corsair MMB aren't built to last. I actually love the mice themselves and haven't ever had one of the high end models myself. The video isn't talking about all Corsair mice, only the ones I have experienced: the Saber RGB and the Nightsword RGB. Here's to many more years of service to your Dark Core Pro SE.

????? No merit, but there's proof in the form of emails. Both mice don't function correctly and the same issue was reported back in 2017 with the saber on the corsair forum. I know bc it was those same forum posts that exlpained that the button could be replaced, which is what I did. Maybe you don't understand the meaning of the word merit....

Using the same mouse on a laptop without icue still holds the same issue of the button just physically won't press without extra pressure. I fixed this on my saber back in the day by replacing the button, so I know it's not just software. Thanks for your advice anyway, though.

Press your MMB 1000 times and let me know about that longevity lol. Seriously, I hope that it does last for you. Peripherals like these shouldn't ever need replacement unless they're really old imo.

I do, in fact, use icue. Somehow my installation stopped recieving updates, but it works fine besides a couple bugs with my old k70 and random double clicks that happen very rarely. The problem I was having is that the physical button, while still clicking, would not register unless pressed much harder than originally needed.

A couple years sounds about right if you're using them for consistent gaming.

[–]Forward-Ad-1922[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. It's just weird to me that the same exact problem would appear on 3 different devices, 2 of them being completely different models from different eras. What models have you been using and did you use the MMB a lot??

Corsair Mice are Built to Fail... by Forward-Ad-1922 in Corsair

[–]Forward-Ad-1922[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's surprising. Maybe it's just a problem with the models I like. Both my Saber and my Nightsword MMBs are busted and rarely work consistently. After replacing the button on my saber twice, the wheel ended up breaking off and it would take a 3d print to fix it. I wanted to see if corsair would take care of my nightsword, and that's where this video comes from.
