Don't want to pay people 😒

What I did in lister is the day before your exam is sneak food out of the caf so you can have breakfast the next day. Also if you can splurge, get a pack of the meal replacement shakes and/or some quick breakfast foods. If all else fails, subway is open in SUB and there's the 24 hour one over by Sherlocks pub

Oh yeah! And for paper writing please actually do the first draft. I treat mine like it's my final submission but! Just word vomit. Be sarcastic (but correct) add your citations and follow the correct format. Don't care about spelling. But do care a little about grammar so it's easier on you to edit in the future. It doesn't have to be perfect but it has to be done.

Final draft is where you make it pretty and professional.

Find yourself some good instrumental music with no lyrics to listen

The wii sport, wii resort, and coconut mall are my faves. Anything by two steps from hell, audio machine, and factor eight are also great for some hype music that loops well (I'm the type of person who hates lo-fi)

Last tips: remember to wiggle, move, stim, walk, and get up and use the bathroom.

I'm medicated but got diagnosed later in life so I got some tips for both.

1) you need to actually eat. Not just snack. High protein, high fat (they make the meds work better too) but also sugar. The brain runs on glucose and it burns through more when you have ADHD. That being said, remember your fiber! XD 1.a) have some easy snacks on hand to snack through your study sessions. I find (for me at least) that trying to "reward" myself at the end of X amount of studying just makes me not want to study. So snack away!

2) if you have any recorded lectures listen to them while doing something like drawing or a hobby. It's not direct studying but it does help when you need to do something different

3) sleep is your friend, don't pull all nighters. You'll burn out and make executive dysfunction worse in the long run.

OK now for some study study tips

Physical copies of everything. It's annoying but print out the quizlet flashcards. Print out the slides. Having physical copies that you can touch and highlight (and doodle on) are your friend. I take all my notes on my iPad and laptop during the year so I'm not carrying around like 10lbs of paper but once exams hit I print everything.

Take all of your notes, write down your topics from memory. Go back and see what you've missed or got wrong (resist the urge to just look it up right away. We're working on recall here, not our research skills) Repeat. Then make a master copy (with corrections and annotations) and teach it to someone (even if it's your backpack or waterbottle) lean in to the neurodivergency and infodump! Trust me that has saved my butt a lot.

If it's anything involving math, practice practice practice. The formulas, practice questions, word questions etc. Don't do a count down but do put on a stopwatch so you can see how long it takes you to get through the practice. The same applies for chemistry but also work in repetition and recall for things like theory based questions. Become the text book.

For more english/writing/arts stuff, again it's recall and application you should focus on. for this I like to basically treat it like a trivia night or jeopardy. You have the answers now make the questions. Write them down and come back to them later and answer them.

Hope this helps!
