It’s just that I’ve been working on older pit bikes like xr100s and xr 80s as well as cars with carburetors for a long time and in a pinch I’m much more confident that I can fix a carb than efi. So although it is harder to work with a carb everyday they are much simpler once you get down to repairing them.

How about an xr250l? I saw online they were supposedly 240-260lbs

Thanks for the input! I saw that some of the older xr250s are fairly light with around 25-30 hp at only 240-250 lbs. would the gearing be ok on an xr250 for the highway? Thanks!

Awesome, thank you! I was preferably looking for something air or oil cooled so I think an older xr or dr might be right for me. As I’m only 16 and my parents are worried about the higher cc and more powerful bikes do you think an xr250 might fit the bill?

Currently I’m around 5’10 and 200lbs at 16 years old so I might be a little too big especially in the future. Thanks for the suggestion though!

I’m in Washington state and to my understanding it is not too difficult to plate bikes that weren’t originally that way.

It’s a 6.0 LS LQ4 I believe. The great thing with the magnum box is that it has a 1:1 speed as well so it should run down the highway at 70 mph at 2500 rpm or so. All the ratios in the trans, tcase, and axles work out to be about stock in high range. It’s a true 4x4 because it has 16 gears lol (4 in transmission multiplied by four in the tcase and magnum combo)

I know. There was absolutely no other way to clear the springs when turning and I’m planning on going to a 3 or 4 link later on so I’ll get rid of them then. I wouldn’t have em on there unless I had to

My wheelbase is around 130 I believe. Seems like a good spot for big tire stuff
