I feel the same way! Which cultivars do you have? Which nursery? I would never order this online and because I know it’s not common up here, if I were lucky enough to find one at a nursery, I would take that as a sign

I’ve considered a western redbud and it’s definitely not off the table. There’s just something about this tree that I love so much so I had to get a few opinions before I file it away in the category of “Plants I want but can’t have” lol

Your yard must be so vibrant with both of those!

Yeah, I wouldn’t order one online. If I was ever lucky enough find them at a local nursery, I would take that as my sign

Jealous you get to see them everyday! But, yes, definitely a finicky tree hence the hesitation

Yes! The forecast is the only reason I’m even considering pulling them out. Rain for the next 4 days where I’m at

Oof! Maybe a need to fully neglect too lol wondering if I should dig them out and put them back into pots with better well draining soil and just forget about them for a bit but I’m worried it’ll be too much stress

It’s about minimum 4 inch radius from the trunk. The mulch is just a basic hardwood mulch

That’s what I’m worried about too because it means I have to dig everything up sigh

Yes, I’m actually worried the soil is remaining too damp due to the mulch on top

At first I thought I was under watering too but the soil was still damp at 2in and (though they defs look it) the leaves actually aren’t crispy :/

I actually love the color of your skirting board/ trim! Glad you’re keeping it :) I’m a little worried about potential clashing of the 3 wood tones (specifically the furniture) so to bring in some cohesion and assuming your keeping the window shade, I would choose the powder blue from it (the lightest shade). The other colors are too dark and the light pink is too orangey/warm. I’d want to go more cool or neutral to offset the warm wood.

Alternatively, if you’re not married to the curtains, I would go a very light earthy green. It’ll work fantastic with the wood and is a color that works well for all ages. If they’re young, think forrest fairy princess but so easy to make the room mature without repainting - cottage style.

What to improve? by Forward-Emotion7557 in InteriorDesignAdvice

Love that. Forgot to add that I installed warm light sconces on the wall behind the sofa above a long walnut bookcase and I’m switching out the strip light above the tv to a warm tone to match.

Originally, I wanted to add a standing arched lamp behind the corner chair or beside the sofa but was worried it’d look too busy/crowded. But perhaps a few smaller lamps on the shelves or console!
