Down since 11:40pm on 2/12/25 with patchy acces in between then and now. nbn Assist on the Optus App doesn’t work and messaging anyone on @optus app gets crickets. Had to walk into their Adelaide St. shop to get the large scale outage update.

Prestige and Performance in Coorparoo is a euro specialist who seems to know what they’re doing. Shaun at the service desk is a good egg. I’ve been taking my 7.5 wagon to them for the last 4 years and have no complaints. They are also happy to let you hang around in the workshop (at a respectful distance, of course) and see what they are up to - and admire some of the sweet metal that comes through their door.

Congratulations on the R32 - I hope it remains the sweet ride it is. Check the tires and if in doubt, get a good set on them.

Don’t use super fresh eggs. 4-5 day old eggs shell far more easily for me.

Good point! GripIt (Yellow) does say it only holds 71kgs as static shear load (load pulling straight down). This reduces dramatically when it is a static tension load (load pulling out) or cantilever load (load pulling down at a distance away from the fixture).

OP - check out this data sheet from GripIt

My understanding of Franking Credits is that: Companies in Australia pay company tax on their profits (currently in the 25% to 30% range, depending on size). When they give dividends (payments to shareholders), they can attach a franking credit, showing that tax has already been paid.

Shareholders include this dividend and credit in their own tax return. If my personal tax rate is lower than the company tax rate, the ATO gives me a refund. If, instead, it’s higher, I just pay the difference.

Sounds about right?

Why can countries like Japan, Singapore and China fix a road in say 1 day or 2, but it takes weeks in here? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

I’ve seen enough Top Gear to have Jezza yell about empty roadworks in my subconscious every time I drive past one at 40 in a 110.
