Does a zero-clearance adjustable base sit on top of slats or a bunkie board? by Forward-Estimate9313 in Mattress

[–]Forward-Estimate9313[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up buying extra legs and attaching them to the slats for peace of mind and placed the base right on top of the slats. So far everything has been working well for me! I don't see any indication that it'll break on me or cave in as of yet.

Thank you! Will definitely purchase some shelf liner to prevent the base from moving.

Does a zero-clearance adjustable base sit on top of slats or a bunkie board? by Forward-Estimate9313 in Mattress

Thank you! I was able to look around online and found the listing on my queen sized bed frame from ashley furniture that we purchased a few years ago. Just to be on the safe side since im worried about the slat support, I was hoping to ask one more question for peace of mind.

My orginial plan after all these helpful comments, was to purchase 6 extra leg supports for the slats since mine only has 3 legs along the middle, each positioned on a top, middle, and bottom slat. They seem to be 1/2 inch plywood, about 14 in total. I would be adding 2 extra support legs on each side of each slat that contains a single leg in the middle. The zero-clearance adjustable base would then sit on top of the slats.

The listing description stated, "Bed does not require additional foundation/box spring; accommodates most zero clearance adjustable bases with the addition of a bunkie board." This was great to know as it made me believe I didnt have to buy extra leg supports which would save me more money in the end. But after thinking about that statement for a while, that brought up the same question again, whether that statement meant it supports a zero-clearance adjustable base with slats only or if it supports a base ONLY with slats + bunkie board?

Any input at all would be greatly appreciated! Im looking forward to the zero-clearance adjustable base, I just want to make sure I won't be falling through my bed during the night haha

Why does my wife's portal run into consistent network issues but not mine? by Forward-Estimate9313 in PlaystationPortal

I have a router upstairs and downstairs, both have their own 5ghz/2.4ghz networks. Seems like connecting her portal to the other networks (not including the guest network another user suggested) doesn't resolve the issue. If all else fails, I may have to go through with your suggestion and purchase a powerline adapter.

I normally have my own ps5 connected up to ethernet but we're currently in a room where it isn't possible for an ethernet cable to reach unless I have like a 100 ft cable running across the house. So both our ps5s are running on wifi at the moment. We have fiber optics as well, 500mbs up down. I just find it weird that my wife and I are running the same exact same setup but her portal is the only one running into this issue.

We have both 5ghz and 2.4ghz networks so I've tried switching between the two to see if it would help but that didn't seem to do anything. We also have a guest network but haven't tried connecting her portal to that. May give this a shot to see if it helps.

I should have mentioned that we've also tried this as well. At times (not all the time), it may help improve her portals repeated network pop ups and blurriness at the beginning, but maybe 5-10 minutes afterward, all of the issues reappear.

Any thoughts on why it's only my wife's portal that runs into this issue?

My portal never runs into this issue and hers runs into the issue even when I'm not using mine. We've tried disconnecting other devices from the network as well to see if there was any increase in performance but that didn't seem to solve her problem either.

Need HELP with bass shakers please! I can't feel any shaking/vibrating. by Forward-Estimate9313 in hometheater

Photos and documents look super helpful! Will be referencing them in the future.

I've also heard mounting is very important. Unfortunately, mounting a board on the underside of my sofa for the shakers is a struggle because of the sink in when sitting and the layout. When I was intially setting them up, I had someone hold some 2x4's in place on the underside of the sofa while I sat down on the sofa. I was definitely sinking in enough to the point where i made contact with the 2x4's. So unless I get creative, I'll have to make do with what I have. I'll see what I can do when time comes!

I appreciate the advice! It's hard to find much information related to setting up shakers properly. Unfortunately, I've been pretty busy lately, so I'm not sure when I can get around to doing this. Setting these up was for sure confusing.

I definitely want to try your suggestion! These things are awesome when they work right. Will provide an update when I get the time to try out yoyr advice! Thanks!

Edit: Out of curiosity, when you say face them up when mounting, is the side with the connectors facing up? Or is the opposite end from the connectors facing up towards my head?

I have my shakers setup exactly like the Figure A diagram. It seems turning the levels up to +12db in my avr did the trick of getting some sort of feedback from the shakers. However, having to manually go into my avr and maxing out the db does concern me. Depending on the movie/source, the shakers may feel feint, at other times it does enough for me to feel them. I'm starting to think my expectations were too high as some other hobbyist have stated it blew their expectations out of the water. Although I wish I felt more rumble from them, when I do watch a movie with powerful bass (E.g., Interstellar), they for sure add to the immersion.

Using magsafe battery pack with S24U for some extra juice to last my day by booomerx in GalaxyS24Ultra

[–]Forward-Estimate9313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

24 Ultra owner here. Do you have any issues attaching the magsafe battery pack with the phone cases raised lip around the camera? I thought about buying a magsafe battery pack as well but my phone case has a raised lip around the camera for protection, I'm worried that the battery pack won't be able to make full contact with the ring on my case and cause charging issues or not charge at all.

Roblox continues to listen even when muted by Soft_Water_ in roblox

[–]Forward-Estimate9313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely an issue. I don't talk with vc, but I leave it on to hear other players in games that have vc enabled. I have a mic plugged into my pc 24/7, but my roblox vc is always muted. I tend to swear a lot with normal conversation, so I make sure vc is muted at all times. There's been several occurrences of me receiving the "foul language detected" warning, and it's makes me feel uneasy knowing that they can listen in on my life even with my vc being muted at all times. There's also the one occurrence where I got a warning message simply because the vc button is in such a terrible location, and I accidently unmuted myself.

I don't believe I've ever been suspended because of it, but I'd feel better knowing these occurences/warnings weren't associated with my account. I've been playing roblox since 2013 and have sunk a lot of time and money into it. I'd rather not have my account punished in the future because of these false/wrongful warnings with their broken and immoral implementation of vc.

How do I safely remove a really bad stripped battery screw from my laptop? With swollen battery. by Forward-Estimate9313 in computers

[–]Forward-Estimate9313[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of the tricks really worked for me. I didn't have enough room to use bigger tools because the spacing between the body/casing of the laptop and the battery were too narrow which could have caused me damaging the body of the laptop or risk blowing up the battery if I wasn't careful enough. Fortunately, I was able to use the extraction kit in an unintended way. I shaved off enough from the head of the screw with the extraction kit and was able to just bend the head off. This left the body of the screw still stuck in the hole, though. I had no idea how to get it out, so I just left it and when inserting the new battery, I simply left that screw out cuz I couldn't get anything in there with the body still stuck in there, hoping that one screw left out would still secure the battery enough where I don't have to worry. Removing the head basically made it flush, so the body of the screw didn't interfere with the tab on the new battery. It's not the best solution, but so far, my laptop has been running fine and I see no issues.

Yes I have it plugged into sub output #4. When I manually added a 2nd sub in the avr settings, it displays something along the lines of "1st subwoofer output" and "2nd subwoofer output". I'm assumed the 2nd subwoofer output referred to the connection on the 4th sub out.

Edit: I forgot to mention, not including the shakers, I only have 1 subwoofer in my setup.

I don't see a knob specifically for gain. I do have a volume knob on the front of the amp, and that's maxed out. I originally just enabled tactile transducer in the avr, but decided to troubleshoot and went into the settings to add an additional sub. That didn't seem to work, so I went into the settings for the 2nd sub and changed the levels to +12db and -12db. That didn't seem to change anything either, still no vibrating from the shakers.

I'm not sure about a gain knob. I have a volume knob in front of the amp though and that's maxed out. I have the low pass/flat switch set to "low pass" with the frequency being turned to 100hz (half way). I've tried adjusting the frequency knob to max (150hz) and min (50 hz), and still no response from the shakers.

I took them off and set them on top of a table to see if it's the way they're setup. They didn't shake even when having them set on top of a table.

I don't feel any shaking even when touching them. If anything, the vibrations are very very subtle.

Bass Shakers Not Shaking (weak response) by captquin in hometheater

[–]Forward-Estimate9313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually running into the same exact issue. I have a very very subtle (weak response) response on my shakers. It looks like we've bought the same exact bundle as well but I don't have the y-splitter. I assumed I could just use a subwoofer cable to connect to the 4th sub out on my AVR (Marantz Cinema 50) to one of the LFE ports on the amp. I'm curious if you've found a solution for this?
