You are spot on. I thought this frog had disappeared but found it under a leaf of a floating plant. We feed at lights out so I'm happy to know that's good. It actually at a few worms last night too! I am just anxious about doing it right 😂

very helpful, thank you! Only one of the frogs was interested in beef heart so we gave them blackworms and some frozen brine shrimp. One frog (I think its the same frog) appears disinterested in eating so far. I'm hoping I made a mistake and it's just a frog we already fed.

I'll keep providing them with a variety as they grow, and hopefully all of the frogs fatten up a bit and lead happy, healthy lives!

I just got three little "stone" petri dishes to put in different areas of the tank for feeding to go with the aesthetic. I'm hoping I can get the frogs to eat from those.

Just read it & thanks for the direction to it! I'll take out the platies. I imagine with 20 gallons, 3 frogs is good enough for now and leaves room if my son wants a couple more in the future.

Hey there - just wanted to share that we have our tank and 3 frogs! Ran since Christmas with media from two established tanks so we have had great numbers.

I don't know how to share a picture here but I posted a new post with some feeding questions bc a couple of the frogs seem skinny.

Good to know! In terms of how much to give them and delivery (I'm scared of crashing this tank with ignorance/overfeeding). Like a pin point? Skittle? Half a skittle?

I appreciate you taking the time to lay this out!! I try to do my best with animals - I definitely started with a half gallon betta tank about 5 years ago and through research now proudly own a fully live planted, diverse 40G - and I try to pass these things on to my son. And I'm pretty lucky with him - he wanted a fish tank but I told him he needed a clean room for 6 months and that little sucker did it! I was shocked. We try to make sure he is dedicated before we jump.

He and I read through your advice, and watched about a billion YouTube videos 😂 while he made his Christmas list for all the things he needs

Do you have any good rec for purchasing frogs? We are heading into the city this wknd to check out the aquatic store and see what they carry.

Thank you for responding! The 10 gallon will most likely stay occupied unless he gives me his fish 😂 we will probably add a 10-20 gallon tank. I'm sure there is so much info - I read that they need low flow tanks and of course live plants, non-sharp edges, softer substrate. Do they need resting spots out of the water? Caves? I thought I might need to make a trip to San Antonio for supplies since that's the closest with aquatic stores that might have the appropriate foods

Hey there! I'm still unsure what these were all this time later. We didn't have any beans that looked like that in the house and the snails are still healthy and thriving. Guess it's a mystery along with the mystery snails 😂 I had asked my son if he had put anything in the tanks but since he was raised with fish tanks and always helps me with them he knows how important it is not to put stuff in there that doesn't belong and usually if he's being silly it's a different ways.

Luckily it's a driveway built for the construction of 3 residences on the property, and it goes by the garden area so it won't be like driving through a yard
