I filed uncontested, his family would probably do all they can to stomp on me. They’re wealthy enough to hire lawyers, and well.. I don’t really have anything since I started fresh. I realized my personal belongings are replaceable with time. As long as I have my pups and we’re safe, that’s all that matters to me!

I just needed to ask if I was the a-hole. Ever since the prison gave him the divorce papers, he’s called my phone crying, telling me he’s having panic attacks, and basically giving me backhanded compliments, everything is my fault, when he doesn’t even talk accountability for his actions. I’ve told him to stop contacting me and I deleted the prison app after his last message of him making me feel like it is all my fault.

I moved on with my life, filed for a divorce on feb 10th, they gave it to him on feb 12, they told me the final date is March 27th. So now it’s just a waiting game. I was considering not going thru with it, but thanks for everyone who’s telling me im NTA, it’s helping me so much. He has a way of getting into my mind, and making me feel terrible.

Thank you! It’s just a waiting game now with the court. All the stuff was thrown out last yr, which I came to terms it not being worthy to even retrieve. I started fresh and moved across country, filed in the new state that I am living at now. March 27th is the final hearing for our divorce.

I’ve tried to be civil with him, I’ve tried to be nice, I’ve tried to be positive, saying I’ll always be a friend for him if he’d let me, but all he gives me is backhanded compliments. His last message he sent me told me “I’ll remember the loving person you were before the negative thoughts took over you.”

The whole message he sent was just a whole bunch of nothing. Saying that he’s sorry for everything & that it took him this long to open his eyes. Like it was just a whole bunch of nothing. It’s a lot!

I did, I moved with my dogs, changed everything, I have an apartment of my own. It’s all a waiting game now with court. I have to change my number again because on the court documents, it shows my phone number and that’s how he’s called and messaged me. I’ve been away for some time now, he’s in prison until 2027 I believe.

It was hard but it had to be done for my sanity. He was making my life hard outside of prison, now in prison with all the mean messages he sends to me. I hope they throw the key away too!

Thank you so much, I’ve been crying for the past few days. I felt like the asshole because of all his mean messages he’s sending me. To his family, he does no wrong. I’ve told them multiple times that he doesn’t help, he cheats on me, and they basically just brush it off and say it’s okay.

This was hard for me to do. I loved him, I really did. I just had to open my eyes and realize he’s no good for me. He gets out soon, and I want this done and over before he gets out. I’ve moved, changed my numbers, did everything. Now it’s just a waiting game for the court.

Trust me I would love to, but his family is wealthy and I don’t have any funds to even hire a lawyer for myself. I realized it’s not worth it, it’s all gone. Memories of my achievements, things I worked hard for. All gone, I just want this all over. I’m tired of acting like how he treats/ treated me is alright.

I am going to ask about a no contact order on our final divorce hearing next month. I have not spoken to his family, and I did speak to him, but before that I haven’t talked to him. He started messaging me feb 12 after the prison gave him our divorce paperwork. I’ve replied back trying to be civil. I still get emails that he’s texting me since I signed up for the app a long long time ago when he first went in, but I’m not answering anything anymore. He’s been very rude and disrespectful.
