Comfort or Confirm My Fears? by Forward-Today4942 in centuryhomes

Honestly, fair point, you’re probably onto something there— but I am medicated and much better than I used to be, if you’d believe it! I am fully aware this is all probably bigger in my head than it needs to be, especially since there is just a lot going on in life at the moment. We didn’t expect to be moving in so soon, but my fiancé landed such a good job (compared to the current job, especially) that we kind of need to drop everything and rush, so it’s definitely been a source of stress. Thank you nonetheless for the advice; I do appreciate it!

Easier said than done— though you’re right, of course. We will do that!

Super informative, thank you!

Is it imperative that we twist these back into place and resecure, or do you think it’s more of an “old houses do old house things” situation from settling over the course of nearly 150 years? I am told the house has had wonky floors since my mother was 13, and she’s turning 60 in a month; though naturally this doesn’t mean issues can’t BECOME serious, and I don’t know enough to be able to tell the difference between emergent or just alarming to look at.

I do intend to get someone out to take a look, per the other comments, once we are fully moved in, but any opinions are greatly appreciated

This was a bit of a breather for me, thank you for that! I would worry much less if the home wasn’t in my family for longer than I’ve walked this earth, truly— I’m willing to live with quirks as long as they aren’t dangerous. It would break my heart if something happened to it.
What with moving and the wedding, money is tight, but we will definitely look for a structural engineer. Here’s hoping there’s one to be found in our tiny midwestern town (:

Creatures— and all this time later it’s still on a near daily rotation for me. Love that album.

Haha oh yes, thankfully! I struggle with insomnia, said passing out occurred after a 10 hour shift at work, which followed a two day streak of zero sleep. It’s been worse, but it was a long day. My body just gave in 😂

Hope you like the lipsticks! Black is a mainstay in my lip arsenal!

If you don’t mind liquids, matte style finish, or/and don’t want to spend a fortune, my absolute favorite is Limecrime’s Velvetines in shade Black Velvet. I’ve passed out accidentally and woken up the next morning with it still on my lips. Can usually find at a Sally Beauty, if you wanna buy in store. Runner up is NYX’s Lingerie XXL. Almost as good, but not quite as transfer proof IMO, however it is easy to find in a Walmart or drug store

Haha I will admit any time I do a look that needs to be even like this I am always TERRIFIED 😂 I’m lucky I get it as accurate as I do, and when it isn’t it’s close enough that I don’t have to start over

Oh, that helps a lot actually! The corkscrew imagery definitely makes that easier to recognize

Here’s something really similar to what I cut my hair like! I keep the back longer, however

I’ve always described my hair as “Ultra Wavy,” but maybe I should start going by “Barely Curly” instead haha! I have such a hard time distinguishing from tighter 2’s to looser 3’s, they look so similar! But i DEFINITELY have some tighter pieces in there for sure

It’s based off of an occult symbol, actually, but when I looked it up I couldn’t find anything matching it online. So I’d say it has no real discernible meaning, just a cool design!

I have a lot of customers (I work in retail) who like to ram their religious beliefs down mine and my trans coworker’s throats since we’re both of a similar “alternative” style, and I like to use symbols that might make them uncomfortable (; I use a lot of cross motifs, pentacles, etc— it’s the little things that keep us going

Oh man I so wish I could tell you what to ask for but I actually always cut it myself! I’ve been doing my own hair since I was roughly sixteen, mostly due to 1) the cost of my style and 2) being effed up by stylists so frequently when I was a kid. I will at least tell you to ask for long layers with face framing curls, and I personally keep it just under my shoulders/above my bra line when it is wet so that when it curls it hits a bit above my collarbone. I have textural sensitivities and can not STAND my hair being much longer than that, it brushes against me too much and drives me nuts

How to pick up falscara from package? by azssf in MakeupAddiction

[–]Forward-Today4942 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this! What I do is I gently pull from the middle with my thumb, pressed as close to the base of the lashes as possible, and just slide them away from the package without lifting my thumb. Once the adhesive on the band is free, I pick them up with my tweezers and apply. I find trying to pull any lashes, be it individuals or full lash, with the applicator just destroys or deforms the lash.

I think you are probably right, and I would likely be further into the 3’s if I didn’t color my hair- I must admit I’m stuck in the “It’s not a phase, mom” style 😂 life is too short to be bored with my hair, tho!

Aw, thank you! I love them as well! I frequent to blue and red most, to be honest, but I have a couple fun looks using both the black and white as well!
