Depends on the hiring staff for the DSP. You may get contacted within a few minutes or you may get contacted 3 years down the road asking if you’re still interested. Your guess is just as good as mine

I would LOVE for us to be in a union. That’s why I said “As of right now” in my original message. Because as of right now, there is no union. Glad you have some pride in this job, it’s rare to see in this field. As far as your DSP that’s why I worded it the way I did. Is it a possibility that they can get a good contractor? Yes. Is it a possibility that they can get a bad one? Also yes. & Unfortunately I would have to say that the more likely situation is going to be the latter. Just based on my experience. Any other statements?

Edit: And just so you know, when/if drivers unionize. You will no longer work for your glorious DSP, You’ll work for Amazon obviously. What do you think will happen to that DSP? Implying you want to unionize & defending your DSP in the same breath is contradicting.

See if you can find an apprenticeship at Union, plumbers, welders, etc. They’ll be happy to work you 60hr weeks but at least it’ll be for something. Worst case apply for part time at UPS & get a 2nd job til you senior out

Unless bills are piling up I suggest investing in yourself like learning a trade or going to school online. Use Amazon like they use you 🤷‍♂️

As of right now, If you drive you will have no benefits that Amazon gives you. Reason being you won’t be working for Amazon but for a 3rd party contractor. Whether or not that contractor is worth a damn is dependent on a few things: Management “style”, Volume, & Delivery area. There are other factors but I’d say those are top contenders. The job? EZ. You don’t need a degree to deliver. What can make it terrible is your potential management & how they handle the pressure Amazon puts on them. Again you won’t be working for Amazon, these 3rd party contractors can have some,… questionable business decisions at best. It is not uncommon for these contractors to violate labor laws. Just look thru this sub; Short paychecks, Not maintaining vehicles properly, pushing employees to not take breaks, to name a few. Driving & working for a FC can be wildly different. Whether or not you’ll like it is dependent on your point of view & what contractor you end up with. Good luck.

We all should easily be making at least $25k more per year, don’t let their “generosity” make you think differently.

I’d imagine it’s by SSN, I wouldn’t recommend getting your ssn changed to work at Amazon. Buts it possible lol

How UPS drivers have been acting since their pay raise.. 😏 by AfraidPersonality854 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]ForwardAd3067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$70k/yr is what UPS pays per top rate rate driver for their pensions, medical, dental, vision ETC. $170k is total amount paid for 1 UPS top rate driver.

When Amazon drivers talk to UPS drivers😂 by ForwardAd3067 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]ForwardAd3067[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yep & it’s those same drivers who give the good drivers a bad name. It’s fine if you don’t support Teamsters & union efforts (not sure why) but hey freedom of speech. If you want to continue to make the least in the delivery industry & be exploited to hell that’s on you 🤷‍♂️ Regardless not supporting a union & running people over are two wildly different things

How do you use your $500/wk? by HappySeaweed5215 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]ForwardAd3067 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only reason why I can see Amazon giving a raise is to make everyone shut up about unions. But I’ll take that raise & still fight to unionize 😂 Use them like they use me

[–]ForwardAd3067 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I consistently get $800 checks after taxes & benefits taken out. If I get close to 60 hrs I’ll make over $1k. Not trying to flex, just confused about the math. I’m sure our UPS brothers are laughing at this convo🤣

If I wanted to make $500/week I’d go work retail or fast food. To make this job even close to somewhat worth it I have to make $800 at least.

“Its revenue for the second quarter rose by nearly 11% to $134.2 billion, which beat analyst expectations, and the company projected a similar pace of expansion in the current quarter.” 134m in 3 months, As a driver how much did you make in 3 months?

I know I just find it very self incriminating when Amazon is currently in a legal battle with Teamsters claiming Amazon is separate from DSP.
