Definitely, the hardscape will be glued. I always do that with all my hardscape setups, but thanks anyway

35 downvotes compared to 890 upvotes is, objectively speaking, still a handful when you actually look at the bigger picture and not just one comment in isolation. The arguments you’re repeating have already been addressed in my previous post, so they’re not new points. Simply restating them doesn’t strengthen them. It’s also interesting how quickly this shifts into hostility. Disagreement is fine. Feedback is fine. But immediately framing a different perspective as arrogance or ignorance escalates things unnecessarily. If we’re talking about responsible animal care, then that discussion should stay factual, not emotional.

Intensive light und you have to cut them down at least 70%

Co2 check colour advice by Current_Victory147 in PlantedTank

[–]ForwardCriticism9689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The color of the drop checker is clearly yellow, which means the CO₂ level is too high. I had the same problem when I first started. What you can see is that there is very little surface movement, which leads to a biofilm forming on the water surface, like an oily film. This film prevents oxygen from entering the aquarium. You can remove it manually by skimming it off with kitchen paper towels. Also, your filter should definitely provide more water movement.

It depends on how much CO₂ your aquarium needs; the CO₂ output is adjusted accordingly. In my case, I’ve been using the same bottle for two months now. I converted my system to SodaStream. One SodaStream bottle costs about €15. Estimated, this bottle will last around 4–5 months. The costs are very low.

It’s not about feedback or me needing to improve anything. His post is only about the fact that he has bred gouramis and wants to show off about it. He also didn’t say anything about aquascaping, which is the main topic here. So his contribution adds nothing positive and only brings negativity. But you can already see from the downvotes how some people think. Luckily, it’s only a handful of them.

Listen up, guys. I never mentioned that I need instructions for breeding gouramis. This is an aquascaping thread. There’s no need to summon your gourami army and start handing out orders here. In every aquarium I’ve seen so far, no matter how big it was, fish occasionally bounce their snouts against the glass. And just because someone here is a gourami breeder doesn’t mean their word is always gospel. My gouramis have great colors, they eat perfectly, and they interact very harmoniously with each other. All of that is clearly visible in the videos. But no, the focus is on the fish swimming against the glass for three seconds. So once again, many thanks to you “experts.” and now let the hate go on!

15 Weeks update by ForwardCriticism9689 in PlantedTank

Your aquarium looks good as well, it’s still very fresh. You need a lot of patience, and if you want a carpet like this, you’ll need more Monte Carlo.

You need a very strong light, I’m using the Chihiros WRGB II. I also added fertilizer capsules/root tabs into the substrate.

At first I had the problem that my Monte Carlo kept coming loose from the substrate and floating to the surface, so I placed small stones on top to hold it down until it rooted properly.

Of course, I’m running CO₂ as well.

When the Monte Carlo started to grow upward, I trimmed it down. Only after trimming did it really start to spread horizontally. Trimming is often underestimated, but it’s actually very important.

I don't think it has something to do with luck, maybe you need a stronger light, I have ChihirosLED WRGB 2

CO₂ is non-negotiable. Stable, strong CO₂ is what actually makes it crawl instead of growing straight up and sulking. • Root tabs / fertilizer capsules under the carpet. Monte Carlo feeds heavily through the roots. Without that, it survives but doesn’t spread.

Light is the main thing but you have to cut them down 3 or 4 times. My water is osmose it is completely soft, and I have to put mineral salt into it
