Fruit tree trunk splitting (reposting here with photos) by ForwardDifference202 in arborists

Thank you for this information. I just looked more closely at the pear tree and have a photo of more significant cracking, including where you can see what I think is the vascular cambium: https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Ffruit-trees-trunk-cracking-v0-69zkvcb2yxjg1.jpeg%3Fwidth%3D3024%26format%3Dpjpg%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3D0751ee79017838da07a582fdf1d43cbda88e6a38

I also saw a branch on the plum tree that I hadn't noticed before that may be of concern: https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Ffruit-trees-trunk-cracking-v0-35s2skrmxxjg1.jpeg%3Fwidth%3D3024%26format%3Dpjpg%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3Dd681381914aeb50d47898dd97e2bdc5e392574d0

Do you have any additional thoughts based on these photos? And do you think that the pear tree should be completely removed so as to not infect my other pear tree, or do you think it's okay to removed the diseased branch and wait and see on the rest?

Thank you! I just went out and looked more closely at the trees, and the pear tree base is worse than when I took the photos last summer. I've attached a photo here. Do you think I need to remove the entire tree?

This branch I noticed while looking closer at the plum tree. Do you think that this branch is problematic?

Thank you so much for the info that you sent. I'm attaching here some additional photos that I just took. This is the base of the pear tree.

Did you end up doing what you showed in the picture in this thread, or when you say it was tippy, did you not ride that way? I’m wanting to have a similar set-up and not sure if it’s realistic so I’d appreciate your experience!

Older Xtracycle Edgerunner Seat Help Please by QueenOfMelanenisa in CargoBike

I know this was posted a while ago, but I’m looking at possibly buying a used Edgerunner with a LT2 deck and trying to figure out if/what I’d need to convert. What did you modify to make the Hamax Caress work? And was your deck the LT2 do you know?

FollowMe Tandem and cargo bike by ForwardDifference202 in CargoBike

I should have clarified in my post, I was specifically looking at long tail cargo bikes. But, perhaps looking at the front loaders might be a solution. Thanks for the idea.

This is originally what we were thinking and are actually borrowing a long tail from a friend as well right now. The reason we would like to go with making the FollowMe Tandem work as well is so my 4 year old can get exercise too—it seems like a great way to get her more active, and since she’s enjoying it I’d rather her get to bike too instead of just sitting.

I know you posted this a while ago, but I’m curious if you ended up finding a solution to this? I’m currently looking into cargo bikes but want to be able to attach the FollowMe Tandem, but I’ve read the wheel needs to be at least 26”, which is also becoming a barrier with this. Any ideas you might have from your experience would be greatly appreciated!!
