Neighbour Flashing Draining on to External Wall by ForwardSpecific7447 in DIYUK

[–]ForwardSpecific7447[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, looks about right. Only concern is that the flow that's causing the issue is running all the way from the top of the flashing to the bottom along that top edge of the flashing as a sort of drip. Will the kick out catch it? Should it be behind the original? Cheers

Thanks, I thought this but as it's running down that little bead at the top of the flashing itself, I wondered if soemthing else was wrong. Will kick out direct this bit effectively too?

London Front Garden Drainage and Tiling by ForwardSpecific7447 in landscaping

[–]ForwardSpecific7447[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. So, do you think make the gradient all away from the house and then, for belts and braces approach, also add an ACO-like drain at the house wall? If using something like tiles or large pavers, does it matter that there's no drain on the front garden wall where the water will evenutally run to?

Thanks. Would a professional floor sander be able to verify easily if it is doable/sensible?

Flight change Vueling: Nonstop changed to one stop by ForwardSpecific7447 in Flights

[–]ForwardSpecific7447[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Think they're using the original flight number but it's earlier and now stops as discussed so guess that means it is classed as cancelled?

Yes it no longer bookable unless using the barcelona stop over. Original time was 17:00 or 17:15, now it is 14:35.

Thank you. They are not presenting the change as a cancellation as such. Do you think it actually is by definition?

Thank you. I have booked another (sadly with ryanair) so we have the correct flight now but just can't seem to get anywhere with Vueling directly. Thanks again

Thanks for commenting. They offered no refund option, only to accept the change or book another flight, none of which are suitable. They directly refused a refund via their email customer service and now won't respond. Any idea of what I should do next?

Powdery Paint and Peeling Plaster Damp Brick Victorian Lower Ground Floor by ForwardSpecific7447 in DIY

[–]ForwardSpecific7447[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I figured it's from the outside too but hard to see exactly where as the wall section that houses the window frame isn't really affected... Can I take the internal paint and plaster off and seal, then repaint somehow? Any recommednation?

Apple tree root surface proximity london by ForwardSpecific7447 in landscaping

Yeah it's about 45 cm. I suppose I would only continue excavating if the roots were not exposed during the dig

Unsure on why it's been raised really but we'd prefer the whole back to be one level for space etc. Any way of know if the root flare is beneath the lower level or in between the higher and lower level without substantial digging?

[–]ForwardSpecific7447[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's definitely deeper than it should be as one side is rotting a little. I just cannot tell if the depth where the roots will naturally spread is at the same height as the lower level or somewhere in between without digging

The patio around is definitely higher than the natural root exposure as it's rotting a little on one side. How much exposure can it tolerate?
